Having looked at the photos from anth, chdot, kaptunik and ruggtomcat's trip along the coast I think it would be a good idea to plan another ride out that way. I would suggest making the Gothenburg the destination for lunch, and going as far as the rather awesome Cockenzie power station and return via Newhailes Estate?

There's the steepest rideable ride to be planned for at some point too.

Or if you go next Saturday you could add -

    "
The March Portobello Organic Market will be on Saturday 5th 10am-2pm in Brighton Park

Delicious seasonal vegetables, locally reared meat, freshly baked bread and many more tasty treats available.

Portobello Organic Market compliments Portobello’s already vibrant and thriving High Street, selling local and organic fruit, veg, meat, baking, and more.  Although food is the core of the market, we also include a selection of local crafts and other organic products.  Please contact us if there is some thing specific that you would like to see at the market.

The PEDAL stall will be there with all our project information too, and on hand to ask any questions.

Market Craft are now looking after bookings and erecting stalls, while PEDAL leads on publicity and decisions on traders.
So, if you are interested in supporting the market by stewarding, designing publicity or organising entertainment and activities for market days please contact the office on 0131 258 4483 or email polly@pedal-porty.org.uk.

Saturday 10-2 = club lycra run to annoy the residents of the Honest Toun by cycling through the (advisory) "cyclists dismount" signs on the footbridge over the Esk.
