    Local Food Fair, Saturday 26th March 2011 – 11am to 2pm Polwarth Parish Church Hall

    Local Shops and Local Deliveries – Hear more about what our local shops have to offer and meet the organic farmers who deliver vegetables and other food to Shandon

    Shop Local – Buy locally produced vegetables, bread, cakes, meat, jams and chutneys from local producers

    Taste and Cook Local – Cookery challenge and children’s activities

    Local Cakes and Café – Enjoy cakes and biscuits from the Shandon Cake Company

    Come along – and bring your friends and neighbours

    That's interesting - presume it's already happening around Shandon(?).

    My daughter used to deliver drugs (and other things) for a Bruntsfield chemist after school - by bike.

    It's always sad/comical when people justify owning a car by saying 'how else would I do the weekly shop?'.

    Apart from bike/trailer/taxi most supermarkets do on-line ordering/delivery.

    Local shops could band together to offer a similar service, but it might be difficult for small shops to make it cost effective.
