BBC Radio Scotland's Call Kaye phone-in programme

Tomorrow morning between 08:50 and 09:45 we're asking our listeners the question: can you give up your car or will you have to, given fuel/insurance costs? How feasible or attractive is it for you and your family to embrace public or 'active' transport every day?

    Phone in!

anth should phone in from back of his bike while simultaneously cycling "hands free" and scalping roadies!

The opportunity to spot bricks should be promoted as a positive for cycling.

When I listen to this programme occasionally, it usually drives me up the wall.

Was just listening to this (on my way somewhere in the car!). It was really positive. Helped by Kaye being quite pro-cycle.

    I stuck my oar in.

Garry Bell from BWTW was main guest.

I couldn't really do plug for my Helios tandem or even the forum. It's not easy as you're held for ages before being brought in to speak.

I did mention that I'd been car free for an eternity and my daughter now cycles to school.

Kaye was having great fun with the word 'Pannirs' (aka panniers which someone here may have mistyped;-). She admits that she now looks at some of these retro continental bikes.

She has found two volunteers to give up their cars for a week. They'll report on how they find things on public transport and two wheels.

    Thanks amir

I've emailed the producer to say I'd take part again.

Thanks too to anyone else from forum that put in their point of view.
