Carbon or titanium ?

    I want to make this for my long trip , i made it to save my back and arms if it works , now i get a problem , which material is better , carbon or titanium ? its the yellow part in pic , maybe both ?

    For support like that you want flex, and durability, so neither, try Reynolds tubing. Although tbh I don't see the need, you're just going to get battered in the chest by every road bump. Much better to go for a slightly more relaxed "touring" riding position if you can't manage the current posture, or if aerodynamics are a major issue then have a chat with Laidback (or the other recumbists on here :-))

    Of course if there are other issues which warrant it then maybe a hinged and sprung design would be better, in which case either carbon or titanium or indeed alloy, just depends on your access to manufacturing facilities and more importantly budget(!)

    Plastic would be the better material here no metal is going to flex enough to make that comfortable.

    Though your back will still get uncomfortable after a while even if it supported.

    Yeah Id be inclined to recline.... the phrase 'good money after bad' comes to mind.

    bike4all have you tried Century bars? They support your arms just below the elbow. Designed for hundred mile rides and very comfortable.
