Was out at Kincardine Bridge today and we saw these:
Can't imagine what their purpose is, can any of the rail experts on here enlighten me? :-)

I've answered on the image page. They are most likley exhaust gas deflectors to protect the structure / paintwork of the bridge. As for your mysterious pipe supports, where are they on a map?

Yup, cool thanks. I've answered the location thin on the Flickr stream, I can see them on google maps but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a facility on there to pull off a grid or lat and long (grrr).
They run between the footpath and the railway (on the shore side) East from Lincardine Bridge towards the power station, the ones pictured are West of the (old) bridge and can be clearly seen on the googlemaps sattelite view.
edited to add; we looked for old bricks for you but unfortunately didn't see any, sorry! ;-)

S'awright, found some of my own rooting around in the dirt on the Hawthornvale path (Full briefing to follow on Flickr!)
I've also put an answer up about your pipes
