Hi All,
After lurking for the past wee while and getting spotted by steveo, I thought I'd better start posting on the forum and say "hello".
I only started cycle commuting (and cycling in general) at the end of last April and haven't looked back since. I have no idea why I started! About a week before I just decided to do it; bought a few bits and bobs and cycled along NCN75 the following Monday (from Mid Calder to Morrison Street). The first morning commute took about 1hr 40mins... perhaps it would have been best to do a couple of practice runs first :)
With the exception of the snow / ice which ruled out most of December and January for me, I generally cycle commute about 3 or 4 times a week. My route has changed completely and I now go along the A71 before heading over to Slateford Road and have thankfully cut my time down to under the hour each way. Although I have been known to head home via the canal towpath (relatively sheltered from any head wind)
Edit: To help any future spotters, I'm on a Genesis CdF, with carradice saddlebag (not many of us about)
