    So not just because of the cobbles then? (unless you have a full suspension bike).

    Isn't the Royal Mile always busy in August?

    I often go up the Canongate on the way in in the morning as an alternative to Holyrood Road and the Cowgate. When it was slushy and I'd deflated a bit I could go all the way up it without feeling too rattly but usually escape to Jeffrey St.

    We've already paid, thats ma road tax that paid for the road up the royal mile ;)
