Not seen this mentioned on the forum before so thought I'd put it up. Link was put on facebook by the UHI Centre for Nordic Studies. Looks 'interesting'. Got to love the Norskies.

I've come across the Trondheim lift before (not on here) but never seen pictures with so much use.

There was a serious look at doing the same in Dublin Street.

The fact that no-one has copied it suggests it's either very expensive or has technical issues(??)

Rainfall between Trondheim and Edinburgh looks reasonably similar so I doubt it's that. Perhaps Edinburgh has greater quantities of neds or higher levels of student drunkenness.

beautiful Eiffel Outdoor lift in Lisbon, also a funicular railway to get you to the Barrio Alto. As a tourist also very easy just to walk up but I guess makes sense for smart Lisbonistas with oyster cards - the Stompe would have helped me n the Col du Climpy

It'd never work here, the H&S mob would be warning of legal action from those stupid/drunk enough to wander over it and injure their ankles.

Those spiral escalators look more like helices.
