    Still available...

    Revolution track pump.

To all intents and purposes, this rather handsome looking pump works. However it has a "dual function" valve head, and I have never got it to work satisfactorily with Schrader valves (car type). Until last week it was just dandy at inflating Presta valves, but now I can't get it to do that either. No problem with the seals, barrel, or pressure gauge. Just the nozzle.

So, free to someone who either has lucky track pump fingers or has the know-how/patience to service the valve head or replace it.

    PM me if interested.

Perhaps this is not quite the right thread, but I don't see a "for sale" thread so here goes.

Now that Mrs crow river has a nice new Dutch bike, our bicycle stable needs to be thinned out a bit.

Thus it is time to bid farewell to the trusty BSA 20 shopper.

I bought this second hand in 2011, when it was treated to new cables, inner tubes, brake blocks and a gear service. It has had very little use since then, spending most of the time stored in the garage. I'd be surprised if it's done 100 miles in the five years. Hub gear runs remarkably smoothly, braking is much better than one might expect, even in the rain.

    Details:

    Steel frame in 1970s bronze.
20" wheels, (451 not 406), chrome steel rims.
Sturmey Archer 3 spped AW hub gears.
Sprung vinyl saddle with saddle bag loops.
Pletscher rear rack with rat trap.
Stainless steel mudguards, original rear reflector.
    Caliper brakes front and rear.
Adjustable height handlebar stem with north road style bars, all in chromed steel.
    City tyres, white wall.

I should note that one spoke on the front wheel is broken, but it was like that when purchased and this has never affected the ride, steering, handling, at all. You'll struggle to notice this I would suggest. The new cabling does not run through the frame, but is tied to it.

Otherwiose the bike is in good used condition. The bike is surprisingly light and nimble to ride, accelerates quickly and would be a good urban runabout. See pictures below.

Looking for £60 o.n.o. PM me if interested.

I have an old Cannondale Touring Classic, the 2007 model, size medium, and I've been wondering if I should talk myself into selling it - it's getting difficult to navigate the hall for bike stuff and she has been mostly ousted by a newer bike. Does anyone have any notion of a sensible price range? Google is not being very helpful... I can dig out the full spec plus (nowadays fitted with figure 8 touring bars and V-brakes & drivetrain has all been swapped out) but I have the original drops, levers & brakes set aside). If I do decide to sell, I'll post here before I venture onto Gumtree etc.

Last in use in the wild (with racks still attached): Newfoundland September 2014
(...looking at this picture is making me feel a wee bit like I'm considering giving away a child.)

Okay, next up is my Mike Kowal hand built road bike frame and forks.

I had this built up as a single speed, but since picking up a Kona Paddy Wagon I've hardly ridden it. So, as part of n-1, I think it's time for this frame to go. I'll be keeping most of the components, except the (threaded) headset which I'll throw in. Might throw in the square taper bottom bracket too for an extra fiver.

Bought second hand in 2011 from the sole previous owner, the frame is unchanged since then and has been stored indoors. I can check exact dimensions but from memory it's 20.5" or 52cm seat tube centre to top. I think the top tube is the same. It's lugged and brazed Reynolds 653 throughout, with horizontal rear dropouts, a recessed cable run in the top tube, and a pump peg on the head tube, brazed on cable stops/shifter mounts on down tube. A very light and comfortable frame to ride. The paint has rub marks and blisters but there is no major corrosion to the metal, just a bit of surface rust where the chain stays meet the BB shell. This is the original paint finish with the frame maker's decals largely intact. Proabably a good candidate for a respray, could make a nice road bike project.

£50 o.n.o. PM me if interested.

Pictures of the frame only below, and then to give an idea what the bike looks like built up, a pic of the single speed build at the bottom.

"but I don't see a "for sale" thread"

Never been one. People are free to add things here or start their own thread.

Fortunately CCE hasn't been overwhelmed by 'stuff for sale'.

I have one of my 531 fleet on ebay (as seen at PoP). Will sell if anyone wants it before it's attracted a bid here -

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/111984744799

I'm half hoping no-one buys as I like it, just have to sell a different bike instead!

Following second hand parts going free to a good home, would be a shame to bin them:

    Tyres
    Pair - Grand Prix 26 x 1 1/8 (28-559) - very lightly worn
    Pair - CX PRO 26 x 1.35 (35-559) - some wear on one
    Pair - Sport Contact 700 x 28 (28-622) - very lightly worn
    Pair - Durano Etape 700 x 25 (25-622) - very lightly worn

    Rack
Super Tourist DX Disc - cosmetically tatty but otherwise fine

Dibs below then pop by the shop and pick them up in the next week or so. Thanks, Hannah @ The Cycle Service

I would like the Grand Prixs. However they might be a bit narrow for my rims so need to do some measuring.

So, Mandopicker Duranos, Gembo Sport Contacts (2nd dibs Duranos), friskiffla Grand Prixs (pending measuring). Just drop by the shop (50 West Richmond Street) in the week and me or Chris'll be able to find them for you.

That just leaves the CX pros (kid's/mtb cross tyres) and a disc rack going.

For sale: two Carradice Super C saddlebags. I bought them when I was trying to work out my touring luggage requirements, but to be honest I've hardly ever used them. Capacity is 23 litres each, and they're both hugely weatherproof.

    Carradice Super C saddlebag - current model - £50

    Carradice Super C saddlebag - older model - £40

I also have an SQR mount, but need to find all the parts first.

Tyres free to a good home and a possible swap:

I have some 26 x 1.5 Continental Comfort Contact tyres - used for a few weeks last spring till I replaced them with something puncture-resistant. They're taking up shed space so should be rehomed. Can hand over anywhere around town / Newington / Morningside at various times.

If anyone has a set of lowrider racks that would fit a Surly front fork they would consider swapping, I'm trying to avoid refitting the beast of a Surly Nice front rack I used last summer (it only encourages me to pack everything I own - you could probably strap a dead deer onto the top). I have an unused aluminium platform-type front rack that would fit a 700CC wheel to exchange. Er, I can't remember where I got it from or tell you what make it is as the confirmation email is eluding me... I just know it cost about £25. (Not sure why I didn't return it!)

If no-one here wants it I've just arranged to give my spare tyres and some other stuff to Bikes For Refugees Scotland. Might be the sort of thing they would have a person in mind for?

unhurt, would a Tubus Tara front rack be of interest? I've had mine for years but it's been gathering dust for a good while. I'd rather sell it though, than do a part exchange.

Hmm, maybe! Though it may not fit - I have Tubus low-riders (the sort of S-shaped ones?) that need to fit around the forks, and they won't go on the Surly...

    Going Free:

    Tyres
    Pair - CX PRO 26 x 1.35 (35-559) - some wear on one

    Frames
58 cm Navy Blue Charge Plug Frame

Seat tube 58 bb to top tube (centre to centre), 56 top tube length (centre to centre). Some stickers, paint a bit tatty. First few BB threads are a little tired, UN55 tightens securely but a cheapy BB may not. Would make a decent winter beater still.

48cm White Pinnacle Gabbro frame (5'6"-5'9" according to spec)

Seattube 48 from centre bb to top seattube, 43 from centre bb to centre top tube. tob tube 52cm from center seattube to center headtube (slightly drop top tube road frame). Paint a little tatty

Dibs on here then drop by the shop (50 West Richmond Street) to pick them up. Cheers, Hannah

Don't suppose anyone's got a half-decent 26 inch suspension fork they want rid of? V-brake or disc, doesn't matter as long as the stanchions aren't too tatty. Cheers!
