I'm almost exactly one Prussian Half Rod tall.

If I see a vintage LTS1000 frameset in large I might find it hard to resist.

Someone keeps asking me if they can rent the MTB (via http://www.fatlama.com) for 3 or 4 days next week for 100quid.

Obviously I ain't doing it, but do you think its just as simple as hiring but never returning ?

Also you won't get the money, even if upfront payment insisted on will be in monopoly notes. Stay off fatlama

So, even though spring has been delayed, I am having a clearout of bikes I no longer ride. Nowt wrong with them, I just need the space!

Starting off with this Kona Paddy Wagon single speed/fixed gear bike. This would make a good commuter, training bike or even an urban runabout. It's simple, reliable and surprisingly light.

56cm cromoly steel frame and forks, with track dropouts at the rear to allow adjustment of chain tension. Original Kona wheelset, with flip-flop hub at the rear, currenty set up as fixed gear. I have also ridden the single speed hub, and it is smooth and works well. Original crankset, bars, stem, brakes, saddle, etc. Fits me fine: I'm 5' 10" with a long back and shorter legs. Good for riders from 5' 8" to 6' 0" I'd say.

There are scuffs and nicks in the paintwork on the frame, mostly on the top tube where it has leant against Sheffield stands etc. I've tried to show these in the photos. Otherwise the frame is in good condition. Some surface corrosion of the wheel rims near the spoke nipples: replacement 700c rims could be had relatively cheaply, though to be honest I've not found this a worry when riding the bike.

Mudguards shown are included. The tyres are Schwalbe Marathon Plus, and are nearly new, very little use. These alone are worth £30 or £40. Track nuts on both axles are new as well.

The pannier rack and bottle cage in the photos are not included in the sale, but are shown so it can be seen such items can be added easily.

The current model is retailing for between £400 and £500 on average.
Looking for £150 ono. PM me if interested.

Next up, a Ditto Adventure tagalong. This served our children well between the ages of 5 and 8 years old. Great for family cycling, school run, and longer day trips where a wee one’s legs may tire if using their own bike.

Matt black cromoly steel frame, 20” single speed wheel. As you can see, the frame folds away when not in use, as do the pedals. The handlebars are detachable too, and can be stored separately (as shown in the photos). Frame sports a holder for a safety flag, which is included in the sale.
Mounting points for mudguard / rear rack on the chainstay if needed.

frame has spots of surface rust, nothing serious/structural. Mostly near rear of bottom bracket, where chainstays meet the seat tube. Single speed hub runs smoothly: I replaced the freewheel a few years ago with a BMX type one. 1/8th chain is in decent nick.

Complete with fittings to attach to the seatpost of the towing bike: a reducer sleeve takes the collar down to 27.2mm, standard size for many bikes.

£50 ono. PM me if interested.

Yes, but they are all buried in a wood outside Томск.

Here we have a late 1990s Dawes Giro 400 Competition frame and forks 54cm / 21 1/4 inch size. Cro-mo steel ovalised tubeset, with Giro race blades on a threaded steerer. Handbuilt in the UK. Dawes frames of the period are known for their very hard wearing enamel paint finish. Quite nice and reasonably light.

No rust on the frame, just two places where the paint has had a scrape: on the right hand rear of the top tube (though due to the hard paint finish, this has only got through to the undercoat), and on the down tube, where I assume something flew off the front wheel and chipped the paint. Otherwise the paint is in almost perfect condition, though there are signs of some fading from UV light on the forks and head tube.

There’s clearance for 25mm tyres (I was running Gatorskins), maybe fatter, but if you want mudguards probably best to run 25 or 23. Some nice features on the frame including integrated gear hanger on rear chainstay, cable stops, etc.

    Measurements:
    Seat tube 54 cm / 21&1/4 inches C-T (53 cm C-C)
    Top tube 55cm / 21&3/4 inches C-C
Chain set 39 cm / 15&1/4 inches C-T (i.e. from centre of rear axle to the weld at BB shell) or 41cm / 16 inches C-C
    Head tube 13 cm / 5&1/2 inches
    135mm OLN at the rear.

I’ll throw in the existing threaded headset and nearly new square taper bottom bracket with the sale, don’t recall the width (possibly 118mm) but it fits a triple Sora crankset, which is what was on this bike.

Could be good for a winter trainer bike build, or steel road bike (which is what it was before I took the bits off).

Looking for £50 ono. PM if interested.

If these are any use you can have them for a coffee. Came off a hybrid, described as 'Fibre reinforced Composite Platform', a.k.a. plastic if you don't work in Whyte's marketing department.

Having a bit of a clearout from the parts bin. PM me if interested in any of these items. Pickup Leith Walk area.

    1. Resin road pedals for toeclips. Good used condition, very light use really. Straps seem to have disappeared, otherwise very good.

These are about £17 new, looking for a fiver given the lack of straps. Will consider swapping for 24” inner tube (suitable for 1.75/2.00 inch tyres).

     photo IMG_5032_zps7f3kwv3a.jpg

     photo IMG_5034_zps0jvykdtu.jpg

    2. Bobike Child Bicycle Footrests For use with Junior and Rack Mount seats

I had these clamped to the seat stays of the Kona Ute, since sold. I had toyed with the idea of doing similar with the Pashley Pronto but my days of ferrying kids on the back of the bike are nearly over, so surplus to requirements.

Have been used, but as new condition. About a tenner online, so asking £5. Will consider swapping for 24” inner tube (suitable for 1.75/2.00 inch tyres).

     photo IMG_5037_zpsvalv2aro.jpg

    3. Training wheels from a child’s Princess bike. Unused.

Free to a good home. Please just take them away. Pretty sure the Princess castle stickers will come off to reveal normal wheels underneath.

    In addition to above:
26 inch by 1.5 slick tyre, make DSI, hardly used but stored a while

pair of puncture strips, originally fitted to 26 x 1.25 tyres

plastic mudguards, originally fitted to 26 inc wheels. back is about 2.5 inches wide, front is 2 inches wide. Front one is a little crumpled but certainly functional (may be repairable with hairdryer)

All free, but swaps for inner tubes appreciated (26 x 1.25 pref, or 700 x 25)

@gembo no this is a rejected mower that used to belong to mm mum. Fine for small gardens if you know the technique of flymo use. Car is now with brother on medium term loan but since you're in Balerno might be able to arrange a delivery...

@unhurt, yes I have two small terraces and one slope that wrecked cheapest flymo out over the years, then a strimmer. I think they would also wreck any dearer machines hence my interest in your reject via brother's borrowing of car flymo
