Does anyone have any of that segmented sub-bar-tape cable conduit stuff lying around?

I retrieved a wee bit from under the shop-wrapped bars on my last shop-bought (2006 EBC) bike and received another couple of lengths free with my bar-end shifters six years or so ago, but can't immediately spot the same stuff in any shops. I had enough for re-doing the left-hand brake on my singlespeed (I'm trying to get the cables out of the way of a potential bar bag), but only have an inch or so left.

An update to the list of things I have available (handlebars added and pprices reduced):

    The following are free:

    - 105 rear hub. Well used so will require service.

    - 26 inch by 1.5 slick tyre, make DSI, hardly used but stored a while

    - pair of puncture strips, originally fitted to 26 x 1.25 tyres

    - plastic mudguards, originally fitted to 26 inc wheels. back is about 2.5 inches wide, front is 2 inches wide. Front one is a little crumpled but certainly functional (may be repairable with hairdryer)

The following are going cheap before being offered on eBay

-Butterfly bars, with adjustable stem, tape and pair of 3 x 9 speed Deore shifter/brake lever. Latter is near new. £15. Will split if required.

    - Deore front derailleur for 3 x 9 system. Band on fitting. Near new. £10

    - drop handlebars - ergo type - 42cm wide £5

more items from the 'its gotta go box'. No sensible PY coffee exchange refused.

Crack Bros pedals - Candy somethings. Many moons ago all my bikes had Crank Bros, not really sure why. Quite MTB-ie, not really commuter items i suppose. Still, nice pedals.

Turnix Pro Saddle - not sure where this came from, possibly my new CX, hard to say. It may be brand new, but its no B17.

Free to good home, this BMX style kids’ bike. Suitable for ages 3-5 years approx. depending on how tall your child is.

Sorry no pedals: I transferred them to another bike which has since been sold. The pedal spindles are a smaller diameter, so standard pedals won’t fit, it’s only the narrower child-specific pedal spindles that will fit.

Single speed freewheel in excellent nick, caliper brakes, 14” wheel size. Hasn’t been used much, in very good condition.

I have training/stabiliser wheels too if required.

Pick up Leith Walk area. PM me to arrange.

I have a very large circular trampoline, still in good nick. We took the replacement netting off it today. The netting takes most of the abuse (we changed it twice). Looks like we have now stopped bouncing. Anyone want it? Free. Should fold down for transporting or could be rolled down road like the scene in the second series of Detectorists.

I have a small garden and like the idea of having a trampoline filling the entirety of it. What's it's diameter? Might also help me reach the top of the leylandii to gie them a trim.*

    *all pending wife agreement

You can borrow my telescopic tree pruner any time you like. Got to hammer those things or they get ideas and quick.

I think we are entering peak bouncing stage and may welcome a contraption to facilitate outdoor of same. Bagsie second dibs after Arobcomp?*

*subject to ratification from Mr Weezee & measurement of space between rhododendron & compost bin.

Trampoline has 3 metre diameter. 75 cm high. Mrs Garto insisting I mention how old it is. I estimate it is in fact nearly fifteen years old. Arobcomp come for a bounce and if you want it we will roll it down the WoL path. If not Weezee by all means you can have second dibs. I would not take offence if neither of you wanted it in the end. Assuming spousal approval is given along the line.

We have had a tremendous amount of bounce out of it

@crowriver. I can give you the pedals. I have a similar bike which I am about the donate to the Bike Station. The bike is only suitable for parts as it did not survive being ridden by a panda....

I will let weezee have first dibs as we are a wee while away from peak bounce at this point. @weezee take a look and I'll measure my garden in case.

@crowriver. Small pedals now removed. So you should be able to give away a complete bike. Just need to work out the logistics of getting the pedals to you.

@gembo Do you have any roller skates? Those things make fantastic impromptu sails.

Hive mind, perhaps you can help with this. My bike's brakes don't have any sort of quick release which makes taking the wheels on and off a bit of a faff. The bike shop was going to replace them but they now say they can't get the parts. Apparently I need 'long drop brakes'. They're happy to fit if I can find the parts.

As far as I'm concerned, the whole thing could be gibberish and I could be asking for tartan paint for all I know, but if this makes sense to anyone can you let me know if this is a thing that can still be purchased or if such things might be sitting around in a box of parts somewhere. And if so, what are the things I need to measure in order to get something that will fit my bike? The brakes currently work fine so there's no real rush but it would be nice to be able to swap wheels easily without a lot of messing about with the brakes.

“what are the things I need to measure”

Vertical distance between centre of brake bolt (the bit that holds the brake to the forks/frame) and centre of a brake block.

“Drop” 47-57 mm (basically the amount the brake blocks can be moved up and down the slot).

@sallyhinch Alternatively, some brake levers allow the cables to be unhooked without undoing any bolts. Look for ones which accept the transverse cylindrical swaged end.
I'll have a check of the drop of the caliper brakes on the old frame and fork in the shed, which I think are QR.

"transverse cylindrical swaged end" is definitely tartan paint, surely

    Type C beneath:

Some levers hold them in a way where they can be slid out of the lever sideways without loosening anything, if there's a corresponding gap for the wire to slide through.

The QR calipers attached to my old frame in the shed look like they go up to 57mm, but the reason they're attached to a frame in the shed is because they were not wanting to come off the last time I tried.
