@gembo: ...they do have some padding at the bottom (where the holes appear for me). I have added bubble wrap at the bottom.(inside).

Bubble wrap is good for protection from impacts but isn't particularly strong, or resistant to abrasion or piercing. May I suggest a piece of closed-cell foam cut from an old karrimat as a potentially more robust alternative? Can also perform secondary duty as a small sit mat on bike picnics!

Might be able to rehome the pool/sandpit combo (assume you've been using one as a lid to keep sand dry/cat poo free?) - but will have to consult tomorrow to check. (Ta if so!)

Yes, 1 can act as the lid for the other one.

We were given them by a neighbour when they moved out but we haven't used them.

For sale: Giant MTX-150 child’s mountain bike. Lightweight aluminium frame. Front suspension fork. 20” wheels with solid axles and aluminium rims. 5 speed gears with twist grip shifter. V-brakes front and rear. Quick release saddle post clamp. Reflectors front and rear. Good features for a kid’s bike: rear mech protector saves the gears from damage if bike falls over. Kickstand mounted behind BB makes for easy parking. Wheel nuts feature rubber caps which protect them against corrosion and also protect young shins and ankles from scrapes, cuts and bruises when pushing or dismounting. Small tear to saddle on left hand side has been patched with gaffer tape.

This bike is in good used condition, has been stored indoors and looked after. Suitable for a child aged 5 to 8 years approximately depending on height.

Looking for £30. PM me if interested.

I have recently bought a groupset and there are brand new bits that don't work with my setup. I've also been experimenting with saddles and am off-loading two that don't work for me. Plus a load of bits some free. For the stuff that I'm selling I will listen to sensible offers.

    - Brooks Swallow saddle (chrome) Used for half a year. Broken in and in vgc. Beautiful. £70

    - Specialized Toupe Expert Gel Saddle Black 155mm Very good condition - looks near new £45 or will consider swaps so that I can continue my saddle odyssey

    - Tiagra caliper brakes front and rear BR-4700 £25. Note these are shallow drop so won't work with normal full mudguards

    - Tiagra front derailleur for 2 x 10 speed systems. FD-4700-F. Braze on fit. Brand new in box. £10

    -Pair of 3 x 9 speed Deore shifter/brake levers. Near new. £15.

    - Deore front derailleur for 3 x 9 system. Band on fitting. Near new. £10

    The following are free:

    - 105 rear hub. Well used so will require service.

    - 26 inch by 1.5 slick tyre, make DSI, hardly used but stored a while

    - pair of puncture strips, originally fitted to 26 x 1.25 tyres

    - plastic mudguards, originally fitted to 26 inc wheels. back is about 2.5 inches wide, front is 2 inches wide. Front one is a little crumpled but certainly functional (may be repairable with hairdryer)

    - Butterfly bars, with adjustable stem, tape

    - drop handlebars - ergo type - 42cm wide

Hi folks-moving house and having a bit of a clear out. Thought I would post these on here before going to Gumtree. I have 2 tow ball mounted bike racks for sale. Both carry 2 bikes.
Pendle tow ball mounted carrier for 2 bikes. This is the wheel support model. I used it when my sons were into downhill racing and it can easily take large tyre sizes up to 2.25 ". I think the advertised weight limit per bike is 15kg but check the Pendle site. It has lights. Brand new it's £211. This is a few years old but in good condition so I am looking for £50.
Thule Ride-On 9402. This is a two bike carrier. It is tow ball mounted. It has lights. One of the plastic light covers is cracked but works perfectly well and is probably easily replaceable. The rack itself is few years old and I think has been replaced by a new generation carrier which I think retails around £150. Looking for £30.
    PM me if interested. Thanks.

Free Helmet for roughly 4-12 months - the smallest we could find. Never been dropped or in an accident but I realise that has to be taken on trust.

The Giant MTX-150 child’s mountain bike is now sold.

Still available: late 1990s Dawes Giro 400 Competition frame and forks 54cm / 21 1/4 inch size. Cro-mo steel ovalised tubeset, with Giro race blades on a threaded steerer. Handbuilt in the UK. Dawes frames of the period are known for their very hard wearing enamel paint finish. Quite nice and reasonably light.

Looking for £50 ono. PM if interested.

Further details, photos etc, upthread here:

Pressing need for shed space requires offloading of bike projects that never happened.

Specialized Hardrock Sport (2008 or 2009), rolling chassis in overall fair condition but frame and cranks show signs of usual wear for an MTB. Nice winter bike/town bike project? First MTB?

    Project comprises
    – Large (19 inch?) alloy frame,
    - Triple chainset (?Octalink BB)
    - Suntour XCT fork (80mm travel),
    - Truvative Hussfelt stem
    - Merida flat bars (680mm?)
    - Pair of unused 9 speed Deore
    - Stroker Ryde hydraulics – last used summer 2017, so
probably want a bleed. Levers might want replacing or
    rebuild.
    - New 26-inch wheelset: rear is Mach 1 MX rim on Quando,
front is X-Rims on ?Quando. Wheels spin true, bearings all good. Fitted with 8 speed cassette.
    - Comes with part used discs ?180mm
    - Basic but functional alloy platform pedals
    - Worn MTB knobblies but comes with semi-slick commuter type

Can supply pics. Would be open to offers in the region of £40? Collect from me in Musselburgh please.

    Looking for £40.

Second bike project for sale (this one sort of happened)

Edinburgh Revolution Compact - basically a Dahon folder in disguise. I'm 6ft 2 and it was fine for me. Used round Edinburgh, shuttling to various places on the train, even got me round Aberdeen for meetings.

    20 inch wheels.
    7 speed Tourney rear mech.
    Shimano thumbshifter.
    V-brakes.
    Rear rack.
Missing front mudguard, rear mudguard with flap.

Some minor rust/pitting on chromed surfaces. Paintwork has a few chips from everyday commute. Plastic chainguard has a crack or

This bike wants some TLC, more than I can give it - front wheel needs two spokes (one broken, another bent). Rear mech probably wants replacing/recabled.

Open to offers, maybe somewhere in the region of £40.

    Can provide pics in abundance.

I'm looking to shift my Claud butler Panache in near original condition (have put new tyres on it and the dynamo wiring needs a look at).

£100 ideally. It's a fantastic bit of history from 1985. wonderful frame. Pretty much comes as original advert. I used it to commute on dry days for a while. Available for viewing. Make me an offer if you want it but 100 is too steep. I paid £150 a while back.

    It's not a small.

I'd say it's a large, with the long top tube of old school 531 frames.

I used to ride it on the drops a fair amount.
