I too can picture one in a box of bits, just can quite picture where which box and where it might be. Will nip to the basement for a look when I can.

@wingpig
I hereby grant all necessary access permissions to your loft.

The bit of cable between the two arms is the 'straddle cable'? I have been free of canti brakes since 2013.

The very boy! I have to go to the office to collect a laptop. You at home?
What eccentric item can I offer in return?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Straddle cable
And cable yoke
So much to learn
So little time
Posted 4 years ago # -
Am at home, currently attempting to chivvy children into getting ready to go for a walk. If I manage to leave the home I will leave the item in the stickbush.
The bolt on this isn't a bolt with an hole through it - shall have another look to see if there is one nearby.Ha.
Bring a big empty bag and take away some more dead inner tubes?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Oh madame will be delighted. I shall have the backbag and the new laptop which will probably be tiny?
Bout 14h00?
Posted 4 years ago # -
I will hopefully have persuaded the children to dress and go for their walk by then but the stickbush will contain the things.

I have the things thank you. I did not recognise your house due to the modifications to shape and colour. I asked a neighbour but they knew nothing of the stickbush or you or the things. Then I remembered the modifications and searched again.
Then a young man said hello and looked quizzically at my bicycle.

What sort of young man? A neighbour, or one just passing?
You didn't happen to be there when the FedEx delivery arrived? I have questions around how they managed to get their parcel through the locked side gate. I hope they didn't drop it over the top.Posted 4 years ago # -
He looked like he was coming home from work? In his twenties.
No, I didn't see the drop-off.
Posted 4 years ago # -
Did you get the straps too or just the claw? As will have to return straps to the Marin they came from. Bought from Mike’s Bikes in Wisconsin
Posted 4 years ago # -
You can use the unwanted end of a double-swaged brake cable as a straddle wire if you have to.
Even the neighbour we talk to wouldn't know about wingpigs or stickbushes.
Posted 4 years ago # -
@wingpig, is that a no on the straps then?
Posted 4 years ago # -
I have to sadly report that @Roibeard's kindly gifted grass seed was no longer viable.
I have purchased a fresh packet and will gift the excess back as a sign of friendship and solidarity.

Can anyone use one or two Hamax Siesta child seats? No clamps, and both need a good wipe down - they were abandoned in the shared drying room in my block ages ago. The fabric parts could do with a wash too, but they seem in good nick otherwise.

Would anyone like a propstand?
It's like this:

Wanted: Power meter left crank, to fit Shimano hollowtech II bottom bracket.
Happy to negotiate on cost.
Thanks!

Could anyone use a Hamax child seat + clamp + keys + waterproof poncho? (you have to take it all!)
PLEASE, free me from this burden!
Free to any home, even bad ones.
(I'm probably easier to message on twitter, same user name, but I do check here)

Bike seat taken.
Posted 4 years ago # -
And all. The other bits?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Anyone got a rack for sale that might fit a 26" Islabike Beinn. Hoping for something not too heavy as for kid, and I want them to be able to carry some of my stuff for a change.
Also, friend looking for a BMX/park bike for a tallish 10yo if anyone happens to know of anything.

Does anyone use deore compatible disc to brake pads? I've got a pair of sintered pads here if anyone wants them?
Posted 4 years ago # -
@steveo
I do, but I think the discs are only rated for resin pads. I shall check.
Posted 4 years ago # -
I've just found a set of Superstar Organic pads too. I'm a little dubious of these since the glue that held the abrasive to the pad failed on one set but they're available.
Posted 4 years ago # -
@steveo
Yikes.
Posted 4 years ago # -
It was on my commuter so probably took a little more abuse than normal but got a bit of fright when my front brake suddenly ceased.
So anyone want them, I'm sure they'll be fine :)

discs are only rated for resin pads.
oh great, something else to worry about. Since when are discs only rated for certain types of pad ?
Does it really matter? I stick any pads I can find the 'bit box' in, when needed.
