@Cyclingmollie - what's the condition of the rubber like on the hoods of the Soras? My shifters are fine but rubber almost worn through on the sides from over-restage of hands on hoods. I could do with replacements.

The rubbers are good. They are slightly non-standard in that they have the little screw hole on the tops to adjust lever reach. But if you have Soras that's not an issue.

Seems a shame to break up just for hoods...
Would be interested and 105 brakes.

@chdot - I will put the old hoods on the other set and then the iffy shifter has iffy hoods and my noniffy shifter innards have noniffy hoods.
No breakage required.

Fine with me - assumed your hoods 'too far gone to be used'.

They're wearing thin, there's plenty life in them I'm sure.
If you were after the shifters too you are welcome to them once I've changed bits over?

OK!
Posted 11 years ago # -
chdot, I will set aside the brakes for you. Collect whenever or at next meet-up in town.

If anyone wants some road brake cables to go with their new shifters and/or brakes then my at-least-two road-type-swaged cables for which I currently have no compatible operational levers are still spare.

although think they were bout about 5 years ago and never used. Sure they're still good though?
I have the same, but one of the last two I went to use was did. The second wasn't but due to over tightening when trying to use the first the second blew my inflator apart when the seal was punctured...

Sorry, thread spammed by mistake...

A pair of Shimano Exage aero (i.e. cables routed under the tape) brake levers, with black hoods, in good condition, rescued off a scrapper and free to a good home.
I'm currently on the look out for old forged quill stems, should be of the road (non-rising) type and I need a reasonable reach. The longer the better, but c. 90mm at least.
I have various brake calipers with little use that I'd be happy to swap for something and also some bar-end Cane Creek TT200 brake levers that I never really got round to using much.

I could use the levers.
Will check stems.

Small pile of bike mags
Slightly larger pile of Mac mags (for nostalgia).

I think I mentioned that I had picked up a v. cheap airzound a while back. However, closer inspection suggested that it is missing a bracket. If anyone has such a bracket that they aren't using, I'd be delighted to swap a jar of jam or chutney.

Endura Stealth i Jacket- RED - never worn (in anger) on bike - LARGE. (This is not one of my usual well worn red jackets!) PRACTICALLY AS NEW with no wear on collar, cuffs or zips.
Untitled by LaidBackBikes, on FlickrTech spec of new one here - over £160 new Endura Stealh II
Clearing out stuff I won't wear. Reason is that on my regular bikes I like lighter jacket with more pocket space.
New home wanted as too good for charity shop. An excuse to visit LB too. PM me if it's of interest.

Not much to do with cycling.

Going wireless.

I have a pair of large Karrimore panniers plus a rack going spare if anybody wants them?
They are dark green with reflective strips at the back. They are not waterproof but still have the original thick plastic bags to store your stuff -they have lasted well! They do look rather used but there is still plenty of wear in them. A good wash would probably help to revive them. I can't get the plastic disks you need to attach it to the rack off, hence why the rack is coming with them.

OOOH. Karrimor Iberians?
Posted 10 years ago # -
I don't know. I couldn't find a species name, but I did find a compass and a packet of darts (not included).

Is your rack a Blackburn EX-1 or EX-2 by any chance?
If yes, has it the more upright front loop on upper frame (allows it to take a Co-Pilot child seat). Older ones had angled front.Posted 10 years ago # -
There are variations of the perpendicular front type too - Taxi seats fit on the newer-logoed variant much more easily than the old-style logo, whereas Limos are equally easy to add to either.

Looking for a traditional chainguard in decent nick, that won't spoil the look of one of these.
