All the above are unworn as they're much bigger than is required for someone who buys XL baggy cycling shorts for their bagginess. These inners are perhaps suitable for waists (and concomitant connected regions) of >=36".
One pair of size L Alpine Bikes K-fast compatible inner shorts, as sold with their own-brand "baggy" size L outer shorts, except that the inners are baggier on me than the outers, which are unsuitable for cycling in and so became my running-wear. These are unworn but have been washed as they were sitting in a drawer for at least seven years.

One pair of size L LIDL/Crivit ¾ shorts, bought on the offchance that they were just a bit bigger than the size Ms I got a couple of years ago but which, when I eventually got round to trying them on a couple of months after buying them, turned out to be about as big around the bottom as an Endura XL K-fast inner short.

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a 9 speed right-hand road STI shifter they no-longer need/want?
I need a replacement r/h shifter as my venerable 105 unit has clicked it's last. As I'm not matchy-matchy, anything that works would be grand.
That said, I'd be very happy if someone had a pair (ideally a double l/h shifter) they'd be willing to sell!
Equally, if anyone is skilled at resurrecting STIs, please do give me a shout.
To answer my own post, I now have a shifter.
In a moment of inspiration I called the Bike Station who, yes, happened to have two 9 speed r/h shifters. One of which was...a 105. T'other was a Tiagra, slightly more worn cosmetically. The 105 looks like it's had a sheltered life.
Riding a 9-speed singlespeed cross bike was a remarkably fun experience. Even in city centre traffic.

Is this some sort of new trend?
One of the riders in my group for the night ride last week lost his rear gear cable about a quarter of the way into the ride. He rode the rest of the way on a 3-speed "single speed". I suspect he was just trying to ensure he wasn't out done by the single speed and 3-speed riders who had chosen the setup at the start.
Guy in the bikeshop nearest my office was telling me this morning he'd recently completed the Edinburgh-St Andrews ride on his singlespeed.

I've discovered a rule of cycling that however much of a nutter you may seem to others, there's always someone who's more of a nutter:
through an unhappy set of circumstances i seem to have acquired a well-used 20" wheel with a worn rim and 3 broken and (?) seized spokes. only remaining bit of value seems to be the quick release

It seems the stickyness of my bar-end shifter was because some of the cable outer fibres had managed to slip/work their way through the cable run where they have been slowly eating away the groove that the gear cable sits in. They've eaten about 3 or 4mm of metal away and basically gubbed the shifter.
Now, Shimano only sell these as complete sets of left-and-right parts, so;
1 - does anyone have an 8 speed, right-hand (rear) friction shifter going spare for sale/swap?
or;
2 - does anyone need a left-hand (front) friction shifter If I buy a replacement pack, as I'll only need the right-hand one.
or;
3 - any other bright ideas? They don't seem to sell replacement parts for these and I can't see any other suitable alternatives where you can just by a single lever rather than a pair.
I have a Shimano 8spd bar end lever that you can have for free. The indexing is a bit vague which was why I replaced it years ago with a new one, but it seems fine to operate on friction. The plastic housing is slightly cracked, so the indexing is probably on borrowed time. It might buy you a year or two anyway.
Arellcat - if I can take that off your hands that would be most kind of you. Depending on how they've modified the design over the years (I have the Ultegra 6400 series one, which I think is a fairly old design now), it may be I can put your lever on the existing housing/plug.
I'm not fussed about the indexing being off, I found I prefer to use them in friction mode.
Temporary repairs effected by lining the channel with tinfoil to smooth things off anf plug the hole worn through the metal.
Finally moving the fixed on, I've not used it in 18 months. Shame, really enjoyed it but my tiny commute doesn't warrant two road bikes.
It's a proper bits-a-bike, nice giant bowery frame, pretty scratched from being my main bike for a couple of years.
Size wise, it's probably too small for me at 188cm though with the seat up it was okay a bit cramped but I managed for ages and being small does make it a bit more chuckable.
R500 front wheel that should be okay for a while longer, flip flop rear wheel in good condition due to rear brake being broken.
Saddle has a knick out of the nose but it adds to the don't steal this one vibe.
Chain could probably do with replacing sooner rather than later, it's not done much milage but has sat around for a while but they're only a fiver on wiggle.

Also I have a dynamo front wheel. A hb c050, it's an older model but still running as smoothly as it ever has.
Compared to higher spec ones it's quite notchy and not as powerful but it's plenty if you've ever seen it drive my home brew lights and you honestly don't notice any notchyness the when you're riding.
Built on an open sport with loads and loads of life left.

What are the mudguard capabilities of the fixed?
Fork has eyelets and rear has loads of clearance but would need to be improvised.
What shape are its bars and levers? Caliper brake holes? Rack eyelets?
It's nominally a track bike so nothing to help in its utility points, I had a Carradice qr on the seat post. Track bars turned upwards from design to make them quite comfortable far better than spec where you're hands sit quite low. Normal dual pivot brakes front and rear, though the rear brakes as fitted are completely seized. They'll come off the frame they'll just not move side to side. I left it in place to save rerouting cable later.
@steveo I've been getting into track through the ERC velodrome coached sessions and have been looking into getting a cheap track bike. As it seems to be a track bike to start, do you think yours could be converted back into a "proper" track bike? I ride a 54cm at 5'8" (175cm) so it sounds like it may fit.
Obviously @wingpig has first dibs but if it can be converted and I can free up some spare wife points I may be interested..
@condor2378 I know the frame because I sold it (nearly new) to Steveo - it's a proper track frame with track-end dropouts to allow use of chain tensioning screws. Take the brakes off and put it in fixed and you have yourself a track bike.
