"Scotland's national tourism agency has called for Edinburgh pubs to be allowed to open before lunchtime on Sundays in order to boost the Capital's economy."

  2. Yep, people come to Edinburgh to get sozzled at early hours of the day! (actually, the stag dos and hen dos would have a field day with it - if that's the sort of tourism the 'leaders' want for the city then god help us all...)

This is great news for anyone who has ever suffered the embarrassment of trying to get a meal in the city centre at Sunday lunchtime with guests.

@Min By allowing people who really want to go to a pub (but have instead been forced to go to a food-serving place (of which I've always thought there were plenty in the centre, or at least slightly south of the centre)) to go to the pub, leaving the food-serving coffee-shops and Monster Mashes of the world free from tablesful of hungover people?

No, by allowing you to get pub grub somewhere near the train station so your friends can eat then catch their train.
