I am seriously perplexed at the extent to which all the big political parties are sticking their heads in the sand over petrol prices.
What the public wants and needs is honesty from our leaders, and they are seriously failing us by implicitly suggesting that all we need is a few pence off petrol taxes.

The hundreds of millions of pounds devoted to increasing trunk road capacity encourages more and longer journeys. That money should instead be spent on public transport, mending potholes and creating safer and more welcoming conditions for local trips by foot and bike.
