Finally visted glen tress with a couple of collegues on Saturday. As most know it was a glorious day and cool under the tree canopy.

We rode most of the red route which took around 2.5 hours. I loved it especially after my first proper outing to Blairadam in January, which was very wet and boggy. The ground was hard and the only down side was the amount of dust off the road up to the top carpark populated by lots of soft top BMW's without bikes (or racks).

I had a great intro to it and will definately go back.

After that we popped with the family to Peebles which is very nice for iced creams and an hour in the play park.

  2. Nice one, I haven't been to GT in a criminally long time. Want to get some new brakes on the MTB and head down again sometime soon.

There was a wee snippet on Glentress tonight on The Adventure Show:

Actually it was really about the Tweed Mountain Rescue team, but they had Dougie Vipond pretend to fall off a bike before covering him in TK, etc for a practice rescue.

There was also good coverage of the Carnethy 5 hill race - OK, so no bikes, but it's local too us and I'm sure some of the long distance cyclists out there will appreciate the stamina/grit/determination angle.

Doesn't seem to be on iPlayer though...

It is now. That fall taken by Dougie Vipond is 'oure comedy'!

I used to do the back up coms for the Carnethy 5 hills race when I was in the TA. There are some very fit people running up those hills.
