Approaching toucan on innocent, jogger approaching from right, jogger pushes nearest button. I try to move to her left. Jogger decides to move over to left too. I brake. Bike is at right angles to crossing. Topples (slowly) to the right. Depositing me in road in front of oncoming traffic, which politely declines to squish me. Jogger removes iPod earbuds and asks "are you ok?" Me (red faced) er. Yes.

Reminds me of the time I was on a group ride, and spotted this cute blonde a few lengths ahead of me. Shapely, nice legs, strong rider, so I had to work hard to catch up with her.

I had just pulled abreast of her, and was trying to contain my breath so my opening gambit wouldn't sound like a gasping salmon at the end of a spawning run, when...

...I hit the railroad tracks with my front tire, had a blowout, and went wheeling into the ditch. My tire, my wheel, and my Saturday night plans all sent into oblivion simultaneously.
