No consolation, but it's remarkably localised (and relatively short).

Cycling in wet jeans. Lovely.
So glad I took the bus home. :-P

Road to work
I see what you did there... Nice punnage. I arrived at the bikechain this evening to pick up my mudguard stays. Obviously, the bike doesn't have mudguards so I was thoroughly soaked. Glad I had sunglasses on!

I have, much to my own surprise, stopped wearing a cycle helmet on my commute, substituting a fine flat cap instead. Still wear the plastic lid when I have the young un on the back, mind. Setting examples, etc.

I was actually glad I ended up having to stay late today - missed getting caught in a heavy downpour wearing a suit and some especially stupid shoes.
Crowriver, I've gotten variable with my helmet usage, too - I wear one if I'm riding during rush hour, and mainly so that if someone hits me they can't pull the 'it's your own fault for not wearing a helmet' card at me - which I realise is a pretty ridiculous reason!
That and it keeps my mother happy...

I find that gin and streptocarpus (streptocarpi? streptocarpuses?) keep my mother happy...

Haha! I delayed leaving by a mere ten minutes and got away dry! With the added bonus of a spin to meet a friend at a new 'guaranteed' Kingfisher spot...

Those of us who work a full day had a lovely, dry, ride home.

To misquote: 'Mother likes her white wine (and her red wine, and her gin)...'
Sadly when she asks me if I've been wearing my cycle helmet, it's generally early evening midweek, and we don't perpetuate ethnic stereotypes hard enough for her to be getting merry by then.
