    Tragic story. I wonder how sturdy the locks were on those bikes. Picardy Place is a bit more like bandit country than leafy Haddington.

    Very tragic. He's a very promising young rider.

    It's worrying that it was taken from busy Picardy Place while still reasonably light...

    Another promising young ERC rider had her bike stolen in advance of the Edinburgh 48 race - it was locked to the rack on her Dad's car when he briefly parked it at Craigmillar Castle to check the course. If anyone sees a custom green Kona Kula Deluxe, details are on the link.

    It seems the father of the lad concerned has quite cannily put an ad on Gumtree with the reward and photos of the bike:

    Drops are no protection anymore! Very worrying as I have been known to park up in that spot..
