It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

This is my in-an-ideal-world route I mentioned up thread.

Red bits would be new path, following the tram route (east section) and dodging behind the houses (west section) to avoid the narrow pavement. Blue bit is already there and not too bad for the most part.
The only addition I'd make to cb's route is to connect it to South Gyle by tarmacing the bit of path between the bypass underpass and Gogar Station Road (about 400m worth) by Hewden Hire Place. That way there's a quiet road link from South Gyle via the RBS bridge. I'd also make the path that runs under the rail bridge at Edinburgh Park go somewhere more than just a foot path that is unsuitable (in its current form) for shared use.

Blue = new
Green = no change
