Tour of Britain: Peebles to Dumfries stage launched
The route for the Scottish stage of this year's Tour of Britain has been officially announced in the Borders.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Aye - I quite fancy the Sportive they're running on that route.
Which day is the sportive? (can't access the site form work). Was going to suggest a forum ride to Peebles for the depart, but a sportive on the actual route sounds interesting.
According to the newspaper report I read it's (another ******) charity ride :-<
Is cycling the new marathon/fun run?
The sportive details are here

In brief
4 Sept
£35
Prostrate Cancer
Peebles to Dumfries - oneway (back on a bus - not sure if included in price)
Route - there are harder in that area
I'd rather cycle down to near peebles, perhaps side of Beef Tub and watch the race go by.
Another great sportive at that time is the Tour of Tweedale on 3 Sept. Better route I think, nice cake and only £10.
Not sure if I can go yet. I might be interested in a ride to see the start of the ToB the following week though.
I guess the best places to see the Tour are the start, going up a steep hill or at the end of the stage. Otherwise they'll just zoom past. I was on quite a gradient at the Giro and they still just zoomed past.
£20 for the transfer back to Peebles.

Busy weekend with the 200km Erit Lass Audax starting from Musselburgh and running down that way on Sunday 11 Sept
Oh, I'm doing the Erit Lass...
Last time they started in Peebles we went down to watch the start, then drove over towards Selkirk to catch the race en route. Twas a good day out. Can't go this year as I'll be on my hols.
Are they going over the Beeftub? I had a feeling the route was by the Grey Mare's Tail?
@ PS: the route can be found here
I quite fancy the Erit Lass too, but will be taking eldest daughter to Peebles for the start. S'pose I'll just ride the EL route by myself another weekend.
Pedal For Scotland is on that day too I think. Is there anybody in Scotland who won't be on a bike on Sunday 11th September??
Oh no - too much choice! It's a bit like buses ...
