    Hello everyone!

    I have a wee question:

We want to hire bikes in Edinburgh and cycle the Water of Leith. It will just be a short trip so we know we might not cover all of it.

What we want to ask is which bike hire store would be the most convenient to join the Water of Leith. This is because we also want to return the bikes back at the end of the day. We can't seem to find one so far!

Any help would be great and much appreciated!

Biketrax is close to Union Canal which links in with WoL either via steps at Slateford or slightly further along to the Balerno railway path.

    Ah thank you so much!!

We have decided to follow your advice and hire from Biketrax. But we will follow the Union Canal path rather than the Water of Leith to make things easier.

Some members of the group have actually not cycled for a long time. Do you think this pathway will be ok for them?

    Many thanks!

"Do you think this pathway will be ok for them?"

    Yes - it's flat!

And in fairly good condition (mostly tarmac) for the distance you are likely to cover.

Beware dogs, children and speeding cyclists (and the aqueduct - cobbled towpath).

    Many thanks!!

We all had a great day and some are in pain haha!

I would also highly recommend Biketrax because they are extremely friendly and willing to give advice
