According to @SpokesLothian questionnaire includes transport issues AND a £25 fairtrade prize!

"It’s more that just “being green”; it is about balancing social, economic and environmental issues in the most efficient and equitable way."

"WE ARE COMMITTED to promoting sustainable transport, increasing the share of journeys made by public transport, foot or bicycle, encouraging the transition to low emission vehicles and minimising adverse health and environmental effects of transport emissions."

"Business as usual is dead. Green growth is the answer to both our climate and economic problems."

    So that's all alright then!

Don't need another report/survey to get some of it implemented then!

Only problem is that after recent events it's clear that not all officials/councillors understand/agree with the basics!

If you respond to this you might like to add your suggestions to the CCE "Manifesto, not quite" page

    My answer to Q4

"CEC already has policies and resources it doesn't use them properly.

MUCH more priority needs to be given to walking and cycling and reducing car use. Recent TIC votes on 20mph and widening pavements for shared use shows that current councillors and officials aren't serious about any sort of 'sustainability' agenda."

    answer to Q11

As will be clear from my previous comments I regard this as mostly a distraction. People involved in this 'project' may well understand some of the 'issues' but few people in the administration care or have much idea of how differently things need to be done - and would be unwilling to propose things which 'might upset the voters'.

    Your report says -

"WE ARE COMMITTED to promoting sustainable transport, increasing the share of journeys made by public transport, foot or bicycle, encouraging the transition to low emission vehicles and minimising adverse health and environmental effects of transport emissions."

There is little evidence that this is true.

How about starting with getting employees to pay for parking or severely restrict parking at (for instance) schools??

Set a better corporate example and people might take this initiative seriously.
