There used to be a very detailed map available online showing the proposed route of all the tram lines.
I'm pretty sure this was a PDF file, can't remember where it was hosted but possibly the official tram website.
The official site just seems to have a rubbish Google maps overlay now.
Anyone know where a copy can be found.

Had a bit of a dig about on here:

    ...but couldn't find anything.

No doubt it's on web 'somewhere' but it was only a 'diagram'. What's wrong with http://www.edinburghtrams.com/index.php/route_map?

    - apart from the fact that it's not 100% accurate.

Image above shows the next 'problem' for cyclists - the access to the North Edinburgh Path Network at Russell Road will be disrupted while building work is going on. Last I heard there might be steps instead of a ramp...

Hmm, yes I remember seeing a big pdf, but my normally excellent google skills have let me down. I found route 3, anyway:

"apart from the fact that it's not 100% accurate."

That's what I don't like about it. The marked route is just a single line linking a finite number of points, whereas the old map acurately showed the tramline drawn onto a large scale map (at least that's my recollection, perhaps it wasn't actually that good).

I'm just kind of interested to know exactly what's going to happen between Russell Road and Balgreen Road (amoungst other places). Looks like it's going to run around the outside of the railway yard off Russell Road, but this will surely cause a fair bit of disruption to the operations there. Is a new bridge going to be built across Russell Road and if so are there plans to start it this decade?
I remember the council Outlook newspaper kept running reports of which roads would be closed and when. Russell Road was originally meant to close back in 2008 I think, but then the date got moved forward, at least once, and still nothing happened.

Just to the east of Balgreen Road it looks like they have a huge amount of work to do as there doesn't seem to be enough space next to the existing railway to run a couple of tram lines. But again no work appears to have started here; it doesn't look like they've even surveyed it.

"But again no work appears to have started here; it doesn't look like they've even surveyed it."

I thought they'd cut down some of the trees. Clearly there will have to be new bridges across Russelll Road and Roseburn Street (but not Balgreen Road as the tram will use the remnants of the Corstorphine Branch).

I don't know where this work was. "At issue is the £5 million additional cost of building a retaining wall at Russell Road, near Murrayfield Stadium, which required stronger foundations than originally planned for."

On Sunday I noticed that the hoardings by the access to NEPN had gone, so something is stirring.

The first good thing the trams have achieved, you can actually see around the corner now when joining the path!

Apparently that is "preparatory" work, with no known date for the real work to start and no details about how/if a cycle path can be created around the 'building site'.
