Thanks to green Mini passenger for noticing that I'd dropped one of my keysets on road near Montpelier Cafe.

Was on new Raptobike demo on way to secret garage in Morningside to demo another bike I hadn't got handy at Bike Works.

Everything had been going fine till I got to Holy Corner and noticed that one of my normally secure pockets had been left unzipped.

So, **panic**, as I realise I'd have to retrace my route.

I turn round and join cars turning right at 'Holy Corner'. All of a sudden a girl comes jogging across and hands me the missing keys....!

"You've not idea how much trouble you've saved me."
    - was so relieved.

At first I thought she was out for a jog but then saw her get into a Mini parked beside Eric Liddell Centre as i continued towards Morningside. So seems she was tailing me and maybe expected me to go straight on but spotted me with 'invisible bike'.

    Anyway much trouble was averted.

Just shows you... thank you once again. Best thing since reading about the swimming cat in paper yesterday!
    Cat takes hydro-therapy

I notice that there are two comments to this story one removed and one anti-cat. So normal moronic comments.....!

My keys have a curve because of half an hour on the street.

My old Swiss Army knife spent 24 hrs on a main road and only broke one blade.

Thought you'd like that Anth. Of course they are compact BMWs really ;-)

Dropping stuff is the main risk of riding bikes with seats. At home stuff just goes down the back of the sofa...

I always secure stuff but yesterday I ended up with a few extra test rides and must have broken my own golden rule. Weren't my main keys but important enough.

Of course other reason I got keys back was that I stopped at red lights so that car could catch me... another advantage of cycling legally!

    SRD slipping?

yes. it did occur to me that I was being unkind (at the least), classist etc. but honestly, the only time I see minis is at george square.....

unfair assumptions all round. now what does sandi toksvig drive?

Ah, I wish they were that exclusive, but sadly they are ten-a-penny around Edinburgh. I do believe I may have parked mine at George Square once or twice... :P

I can picture Sandi Toksvig in a Messerschmitt Bubble Car...

You'd be hard pressed to spot it in the new museum. I think the Bubble car was half way up the Wall of Cars.

Apparently Ms Toksvig had never eaten Pot Noodle or listened to Purple rain.

I'm more shocked that Suggs hadn't changed the oil.
