Having survived the Northern Rock Cyclone, I am now considering what events to do next. The Ken Laidlaw sportive springs to mind. Has anyone here done it? Is it very tough?

I rode the first one, three years ago. It certainly doesn't try to avoid the hills. Best things about it are the feed stations. They are in village halls and operate like free cafes. All you can eat - rolls, scones, tray bakes, jelly babies, tea, coffee, juice. We spent nearly an hour in them (and getting lost and ending up in Selkirk).

Can't comment on Ken Laidlaw having never done it, but don't forget the Erit Lass 200k from Musselburgh in September.

I may well do the Erit Lass (or the Etal-u-can or the three glens explorer).

That's a very long way. Wow. I could be up for that.
