  1. I was going to organise something for tomorrow, then someone kindly scheduled an 8.30 meeting. Thursday's 9.30 meeting isn't much better, so anyone fancy a coffee on Friday morning?

And yes, if it's dry I shall be terribly annoyingly showing off the new bike (took it in today, couldn't resist).

If it's not dry will it just not be annoying or are you only taking it out in the dry at the moment?

I shall be 300 miles away trying vainly to achieve decent coffee with a cafetière as steam technology has not yet reached my parents' kitchen.

  3. No 'guards, so it's a dry-weather pampered soul at the moment.

I'm going for drinks at the Pear tree from 5, so probably can't wangle an early morning as well. But if anyone wants to stop by for drinks, please do, several of us planning to be there are bikey people, including the Brompton rider who has occasionally appeared in the cycle chic thread.

  6. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

My phone just beeped at me with a reminder from my calendar... Got an eye pavilion appointment in the morning. Although... Haha! Thought it was earlier than that - tis 9.20, and just round the corner from PY, so I can hang about longer than normal!

Humph, I may have to come along just to get a cinammon and caffeine morale boost. Looks like I'm not going to be able to do the Lochs and Glens audax on Sunday :-(
So if anyone would like my place (entries are now closed!), then pm me please :-/

Only two forumers seen this morning, though more may have arrived after I left, and a big "Hello" to the nice couple from the Bike Chain who I was chatting to earlier :-)
So we had what we decided was a "road bike", and two road "'cross bikes" (though one looked a bit of a fair weather posuers machine ;-) blooming nice tho' ) and a random selection of unknowns (BSO's!) chained up around the place.

Those of you who missed it, you missed clear skies, warm weather and a very, very nice coffee (and bun)and good chat. See you all there next time! :)

Sorry - the nice weather again tempted me to do an extended commute (carberry-tranent-musselburgh).

Yeah, those Surlys really are a bit poncey aren't they? ;)

Lovely company this mornign folks, AND I was in and out of my appointment in a little under half an hour! (though I did have to shout at a WVM en route to work afterwards).

Well one can't take them out in the rain :-o

Lovely morning for it. Strangely there seemed to be less cyclists around that normal I thought. Could there be a school holiday effect on cycle traffic too??

Well, some substantial proportion of cycle traffic around Meadows is UG students. Lots of Uni staff now off too, since we can't take holidays during term-time. And of course, lots of parents who cycle to work presumably taking holidays with their school-age kids. So, yes, probably there is a school holiday/Uni vacation effect.

Ah I forgot about the students. [cliche]Though surely they don't get out of bed that early anyway. ;-)[/cliche]
