very annoying - I suppose the lesson is, never buy standard items outside sales? dunno. at least you've got a good pump!

Always frustrating :-/
I have to confess, EBC sales come along with such apparent regularity that I only look at their stuff when there is a sale on!

At that price might it be a worthwhile addition to those of us with covered cycle parking at work? Attach it to the frame of the structure with a long piece of steel cable with Nicopressed loops à la Kryptonite cables?

Very community spirited! (applauds)

well I needed a new track pump as my old one got broken
(left under the car wheel oops!)
and my mini pump just wouldt get the road tyres up and I had a near crash in the wet
so I bought the EBC pump as a need it now buyI am tempted to get another to keep at work though

I bought one in May at full price. Ah well.

I'm actually tempted to carry out Arellcat's plan and get one and zip tie it to a railing in our underground car/bike park...

Some kind soul has already done this in my work, unfortunately its an old rubbish pump that wouldn't hit 80 psi on my tyres and the head needs surgery to get it to swap over valve types. I'd feel guilty replacing it with something more effective.

"I'd feel guilty replacing it with something more effective."
Only if you believe that previous donor will be publicly 'shown up' in some way.
They might be relieved/pleased that someone else has acknowledged their gesture and provided something too.
Could put a notice on it saying "for Presta/high pressure valves".
So two pumps for two purposes - some people will feel happier knowing they can use 'the right one' without having to worry about whether the head is 'in the right configuration' - and that's just those who know about different configurations/swapping/etc.

Might even save donor the price of a taxi on a 'slow puncture/forgot pump' day.
In some workplaces it might be possible to leave spare tubes (even used/repaired ones) with "please take if you need one - and replace".
Leave one tyre lever too, see if things get added...

These are still o9n offer, plenty in stock
EBC have even set up a try them out wheelI bought another for work today
on the way in this morning(was having a great run and making good speed) I got a puncture
so i fitted the spare tube
this must have had a fault as it burst as i fitted the wheel!
so it was a £12 taxi ffor the rest of the journey to work *grumble*Posted 13 years ago # -
I bought a second EBC track pump for work for £8.99 once [and got the depute head at Tynie to buy one for the bike club there]. Few years back. Total bargain. Even at £12.99 might get another as the one in my garage is worn out

so I bought one at £17.99
then I bought one at £12.99
its now reduced to £9.99 (from the 20th)are EBC reading this and just having fun with me?

Maybe they have too many in the stockroom and keep tripping over them.
Missed out last time after an online order failed to result in anything but I shall get one this time as an extremely late birthday present for my dad, who it still judging correct pressurisation by thumb-testing tyres after pumping them up with a car foot pump.

also I see the revolution tune up kit is £44.99 down to £29.99 and the workstand is £49.99 from £89.99
sadly I'm skint :(Posted 13 years ago # -
Hm. I tried to take advantage of the last sale at EBC. I needed a replacement for a Blackburn Air Tower that died the day we were setting off for 3 weeks' cycle camping. Cycled across Edinburgh to find the shop closed for stocktaking. Not impressed!
Bought a (full price) Topeak Joe Blow track pump from Leith Cycle Co. instead. On reflection, that is what I should have done in the first place, they have a branch just across the road from my house...
Might look at EBC online this time...
