Personally speaking, perhaps the enormous MTB mudguard on the rear somewhat detracts from the otherwise elegant lines.

Yep, the bike looks very similar to my SS, but he has spoiled it with that crudcatcher - mind you he probably wouldnt like my full front and rear efforts...

Hipper still, there was a mudguardless white fashion-cycle with an aero-rimmed mag wheel at the front parked on Castle St. on Thursday or Friday lunchtime. Didn't check the back but I would have to assume it was a fixie, or hub-geared at the very least.

Do hipsters do SPDs? Me thinketh not!

Mind you the transfer of a semi-naked burd wrapped in union jack on the down tube is a nice 'ironic' touch. Unless it's serious of course!

Anyhow, fixies are so three years ago. Apparently.

Check out the 'Williamsburg' hipster and this 'evolution' chart (ending in 2009).

Note that Monsieur Williamsburg isn't actually riding his fixie, just leaning against it for poseur value whilst drinking Sparks 'energy beer', texting/mobile web browsing/checking an app...

Looking at these profiles makes me want to have my photo taken whilst I'm riding. I used to get numb hands riding long distance but more recently its not so bad. But on Sunday I did 85km (the longest I've since Feb) and my hands didn't get numb but did ache towards the end. I wonder if I'm too lent over or otherwise. I'm thinking this also as I was considering exchanging my Galaxy for something lighter/larger. I rode a Dawes Audax in June and found the reach longer, but not sure this is wise condisering my wrist problems (sprained them multiple times now).

I've just realised that as it's a wednesday I will have my pointy hat with me and my aero bars. Another MMW "position" for anth's collection?

All I can say is thank goodness Anth hasn't managed to snap me yet. I'll be positively shambolic compared to the neatly turned crew above. Just as well I'm an infrequent visitor to the Meadows...
