@Roibeard, generally from 730 (early birds) onwards, with some people leaving by 8 and others not arriving til after, depending on their commute destination and how tardy employers mind them being!

    I'm up for 730-815ish.

Normally from between 0730 and 0800 onwards, no excuses required :-)

Damn, Kaputnik faster than me as usual (sigh) ;-)

there's metered parking in George Square. Access via Chrichton St. Or also parking on Buccluech Place. Neither likely to be too busy this time of year.

Don't know if there are better options within the Qmile or not.

Usually leave for work pre 7, but sure they can cope without me - be there at 7.30.

That's a good bumpy ride :-) I normally go out through Currie past Balerno, right turn at Kirknewton, down past Pumpherston then on through the countryside to Linlithgow before the (smelly*) run in to Falkirk :-)

*the sooner they cover over that landfill the better for my nose/stomach!

You guys need to stop organising these meet ups, when ever you do the wee man has a bad night and I'm stuck on morning bottle and entertainment.

Similarly disrupted by jags and teeth, so very late leaving. There wasn't anyone immediately recogniseable there when I went past at 08:45 but they might have been sitting inside.

  16. Nice to see such a big turnout this morning. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi to all the new faces properly (and Smudge, I wasn't deliberately avoiding you sitting as far away as possible!)

Damb the organisor, I arrived at work and thought it was a Friday only to remember its Wednesday and I've 3 days of work left.

I arrived late so didn't get introduced to all. Here is my photo so you'll recognise me in future:

Yes... after me not quite clicking Smudge that's a good idea. (Although some forumers might want to keep their true IDs secret).

    Nice seeing everyone though...

Amir, were you wearing the blue Campy jersey or the Planet X jersey? I didn't get a chance to ask your name.

I need to get to bed an hour earlier for these PY meets. I think I'm still waking up!

    Yes I was in blue.

I need to bring more clothes for these meets - it was freezing and it was the last time I went.

It was nice to see the great variety of recumbents there today.

I'll do a post of the route and some pictures when I work out the best way to display the route in one go, as I've mapmyrided it out in day-long sections. Also, mapmyride cannot accomodate a ferry journey being part of your ride.

"when I work out the best way to display the route"

In the past I have downloaded the kmz (I think) files and joined them up by removing top and tail bits of code and uploaded the completed file - probably to MapMyRide - think would work with EveryTrail too.

I have Garmin's mapping software at home so I could export the KMZ from mapmyride into that, join them together then export to somewhere that I can project a nice picture of the route (probably google earth)

@kaputnik, mapmyride can cope with ferry crossings, I had same problem before. Asked @mapmyride on twitter, and they got back really quickly with a setting change which allowed this - of course I can remember what setting change is, but if you contact them they get back in touch really quickly.

kaputnik, baldcyclist - MapmyRide - Ferries

May be more than one way, but this worked for me - when you are mapping the route and get to a loch, just untick the 'Follow Roads' option in the toolbar and click on the ferry destination - it then draws a straight line from one side to the other. Once you are at the ferry destination point, re-tick 'Follow Roads'.

You will need to make a wee -ve adjustment to the miles.

Go to the bit crossing loch lomond

Yes, sorry, should have specified - the not following roads bit is no problem, it's the "don't count this bit of the route towards the distance / elveation" that I can't figure out. I got round it by doing separate routes for each section before / after ferry.
