A friend of mine flagged this up to me today. London pioneered its Underground Map, and courtesy of The Bike Station, Edinburgh pioneered its Inner Tube cycle map ... now Birmingham is on its way to having the Top Tube map.

@nicebrowncardy over on Flickr and from the Birmingham Cyclist Forum has been doing a Kaputnik and jolly well getting on with the job. Check it out:

The discussion leading up to this design is on the BCF in the Birmingham Innertube Map thread.

Are you reading Birmingham Cyclist too then, or just the Innertube thread?

City so keen on its trains that it sticks the main stations underground and proposes just 26 bike stands for the new New Street Station. the Inner ring road might have been 'chopped' at the Bullring/Smallbrook Queensway but its still a lousy place to cycle around for decent direct routes through the city, unless you really know the wee holes that thread the canals underneath
