I was asked by Pete Ritchie at Whitmuir to pass this on to any cyclists I knew:

Celebrating the first stage of the Tour of Britain from Peebles to Dumfries, Whitmuir Organics restaurant is hosting a Tour de Border banquet with all main ingredients sourced from on and around the route.

The menu features Walter Scott’s favourite beetroot and tomato soup, stuffed leg of lamb with Broughton Ale gravy, Whitmuir’s signature pearl barley risotto, Cream O’Galloway ice cream and a Locharthur cheese platter.

Diners attired in Lycra will get a free drink on arrival while those who arrive by bicycle will get a free coffee and home made truffle to help them on the journey home. For more information go to http://www.whitmuirtheorganicplace.co.uk, for bookings email eat@whitmuirtheorganicplace.co.uk or phone 01968 611447. £22.95 for two course, £25.95 for three courses.

    The counter-revolution has begun!

  5. It does seem to suggest that you could turn up in lycra without a bike... ;)

I don't think you're wrong there. Sort of like a fancy dress party on a cycling theme.
