You are a well travelled lot was wondering if any of you had ever gone to strasbourg and what the best options are.

The two I've found are flying to basel then mish mash of trains and buses (well, 2) to SB, or flying to paris then 2.5 hr TGV to town.

Any options I'm missing, aware that it's in the middle of everywhere. Direct flights are Very expensive though.

Going via Paris is fine, just make sure you've got enough time to travel from CDG to Paris (getting your RER ticket online beforehand might be a good idea) and don't forget that you have to get from Paris Nord to Est. Which is only a short walk, but it does take some time and involves stairs.
(I've had quite a hectic experience once when my flight to CDG was delayed, I then missed my TGV, had to queue for another TGV ticket, then had to queue to get an RER ticket, then had to run from Gare du Nord to Est... I made it though!)

Thanks Saskia, think Paris then the TGV is the route to take, as the incoming basel flight is so late, may take that route on the way home.

I think they've improved the route to Strasbourg now so you can go straight from CDG at certain times rather than having to face the horror of GdN/The RER *shudder*
