    Not quite exactly what the headline infers imo, but yes, shame the word assertive wasn't used.
    I would say personally that cyclists should be extremely assertive where appropriate, but aggression towards other road users doesn't help us, that said a bit of attack and aggression in your cycling style can help you get away from junctions etc quickly and safely... as with many words the context is everything and a careless phrasing, or the way it's reported, intentionally or otherwise, can change the meaning massively.
