  1. No, this isn't for a follow-up to the bolt cutter/lock video, but rather a bit of garden maintenance I need to take care of...

... just as I was going to suggest you're making a follow up 'youtube AV' about cutting through bike locks.....

    Sorry no I don't.

I've got a reciprocating saw I use in the garden - arguably safer than the chain saw and can easily cut through branches up to several inches thick.

    Any good to you?

  4. Might be.

It's actually to cut through a giant rootball of a New Zealand flax I dug up a wee while back.

Way too heavy to lift into a car, and attempts with smaller saws and an axe have proved too laborious by far to get it hacked into 4 or 5 smaller bits to take to the tip.

My old man has a couple of "grenades" I could lay my hands on - big special metal wedges that you hammer into the grain to split open troublesome bits of wood where complex knotting / structure makes sawing difficult.

  6. Genius! Why didn't I think of that??? Hmmm, could be something I could do with having anyway - I feel a trip to B&Q coming on...

They look painful. For external use only! You just smack them in with a big lump hammer.

I have a 3/4 ft trailer you could borrow, if you don't want to mess up you're car?
