    Hi All

    I've got a Dahon Mu P8 and I'm thinking of selling/swapping it for a 'normal' (!) bike.

As I seem to spend most of my time with a rear child seat on my other (ladies!) bike, I now want to switch to a normal (mens) bike full time.

It needs to be tough enough for an (increasigly heavy!) child to be on my rear bike seat - so I was thinking of something like a Dawes tourer.

If anyone on the forum has something they would consider selling or swapping, please get in touch.

    Many thanks, James.

Good question - I've not done the whole inside leg measurement less 3" thing yet. From memory I've got a 29/30 or so inch inside leg based on trousers!

    5ft 8 tall I'd say. JC.

Yes size please? I have a Dawes Galaxy 2003ish I was thinking of selling to offset my new Cotic >X<. Its green and has the following spec:

(caution I don't have the bike at hand)
    Frame size 58"
    Deore rear derailer,
Tiagra STI (plus poss front derailer)
I think its a 2004 or 2003, its the oval tubed bike as apposed to the older circular tube framed bike.
    Marathon Plus 32 & 28 tyres (4 in total)
    Rear pannier.
Two bottle cages.... can you tell I'm running out of things ot say.. I can let you see it if you like?

I know the guy I bought it from (at Christmas) and can tell you more about the upgrades he made.

I'll check tonight when I'm home but yes might be a little big as I'm 6ft and with the saddle raised ~4-6 inches to suit me. I'll update this eve if you're interested.

"yes might be a little big"

    Even at 58cm.

Think jcoutts will be wanting closer to 21" for that style of bike (horizontal top tube).

I'm 6ft with 33" inside leg. I've a compact(ish) geometry Ridgeback tourer in the same vein as Dave's Dawes and use a 56cm frame.

    I'll refer to this:

    copied from here. http://www.bikecyclingreviews.com/Frame_Geometry.html

I was told that the frame was 58 and that this was the measurement A (middle of bottom bracket to horizontal tube.)

I drew a diagram to show difference between my 3 bikes (road / audax / tour). It's on Flickr. It's in another thread, but I'll find it later.

I also have a brand new, it has only been up to the Meadows and back - from Priestfield once, Dawes Sonoran hanging in my garage at home which I would be prepared to swap if the bike that Dave is offering doesn't work out for you. You can check the details here http://www.dawescycles.com/p-119-sonoran.aspx I think it is the 22.

Ok, update (from the technically disfunctional wife)

    Horizontal tube, 56cm
Vertical tube, 52cm (fron weld on bottom to middle of where horizontac tube intersects with vertical tube)
    Front (E), 26cm.

But as I have always advocated, try before you buy. Shall we meet up in town one day midweek for you to have a sit on it?

PM me with your budget, as I parted with 650GBP at Christmas, so I'd like to know if I'm looking for your anticipated budget, double it or more....
