Funny looking at the T they've painted on the road to warn cyclist about the dangers of door opening. If this were adopted here drivers would assume they were parking bays despite the double parking senario.

This reminds me of my surprise at the length of the modern Mini's door. For such a wee car, it's huge! Someone opened their door just as I was about to cycle past and I had to swerve massively to avoid it.
In general, cycling around the SF area is very rewarding and a pleasurable experience, I find. The drivers have a good attitude to cyclists. Here's a snap of one of the signs they have dotted all around Marin County:

That's basically because it's a three door car and it needs to be big for anyone to be able to get into the back.
Reminds me of the door zone cycle lane at Meadowbank...

Wouldn't it be better to just not paint bike lanes in the door zone in the first place? Also, why do only cyclists need "educating" on this point? Why not drivers and passengers?
