And we're getting shiny new hybrid buses on the number 10 route too... (Possibly to make up for the trams nevereverever coming)

"Possibly to make up for the trams nevereverever coming"

Would be interesting to know how much of LB planning is on the basis of 'no tram'.

Certainly can't be looking forward to being made to subsidise it.

The one thing I'm not too keen on are the front digital destination boards, I know they are a lot more flexible for a resell point of view, but theyre still not as clear as the blinds. Side and rear is fine as is the current way, but they seem to be going that way on the front.

Odd that Lothian have gone for digital destination boards - they've tried various fluoro-dot matrix / LED-based systems over the years with varying (and seemingly limited) degrees of success and always kept going back to illuminted destination blinds, even retrofitting them into older vehicles.

My dad used to work for Strathclyde buses and HATED the floro dot matrix ones, said all the dots used to get dislodged and fall out from the potholes.

The new ones are fairly good (white for a start) but the sub destination text looks a bit weedy, and the numbers have a weird kerning/stretch issue.

Off topic slightly. I found a mobile app for checking the location of busses compared to a bus stop. It needs the bus stop code but:

They'll have to subsidise Wirstbus to scrap their entire fleet then...

Ok Old story but I was really excited yesterday evening to see one of the new number 10s putting the "Thank you for letting me pull out" sign on the rear destination board. I almost didn't believe it (up to now), but it's true!
