Apple & oat muffins* heading over in a few minutes. See some of you there?
(new recipe...hope they're okay)
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

ill be there in an hour
SRD, I'd just missed you when I arrived - you and miniSRD were tootling off towards the Meadows. Thanks also to Rugg, whose one hour warning at +56 minutes was perfectly timed to get me out of the house and over to LBB.
The muffins were lovely! :-)
They were very nice, thanks you. Only three left - sorry two now.
Good seeing showroom with people in it.
We'll see how it goes and open accordingly. Proper evening event in next couple of weeks.

First. Next weekend.
I'm sorry I couldn't make it today. On another thread I mentioned the idea of a Cycling BookSwap Club. It's just a small shelf of books. The idea is that you take a (cycling related) book and leave a (cycling related) book. I know I could provide a dozen to start with. Do you think it is something you would like to host in your shop?
Certainly would. Already got a rack of mags at shop and two books out on loan at moment to formers.
If I hit people with massive fiens for returning late then even better;-)
I'll contribute the (dire) "Cycling around Scotland".
Currently reading "its all about the bike" which is much more enjoyable.
"Certainly would"
That's good (good idea too).
I'm sure you'll make people 'sign them out'.
I have various books for 'circulation' and some 'more valuable' (to me at least) that might be better to be 'reference'.
yeah SRD they were great, I confess I ate 5. Hongry cyclist! They powered a streetshow.
Laidback, I'll drop them off sometime next week, whenever's convenient. PM me with a time.
Congratulations, David! It looks magnificent. If I could stop in there, I would, but there's too much water in the way.
Y'know, if you had something like a jersey or something, I'd be relatively certain you could make an overseas sale. Just sayin'.
Seriously, good luck. I think you're timing couldn't be better.
BTW, will you be selling velomobiles, too?
yeah, and whikes.
I stopped by today and it does look good.
I was hoping to post your book through the letterbox, but there isn't one! Oh well.

Thanks TW ... We have a sale order for a Milan . Just another four months to go.
May end up being built in other section of shop as door is slightly wider - coming as kit.
Letterbox - attracts bad things... sorry CC - just drop into the Bicycle Works and they'll leave in window. Was out on the CTC Anne Carter memorial ride.
Cyclingmollie - yes - can maybe catch up Tuesday? Let me know a time that suits you and I'll make sure I'm over.
Laidback - Tuesday would be fine for me. Mid morning, say about 10.30am? Be good to see the shop.
That's fine. See you then. Cafe next door too. It is a showroom more than a shop - work in progress.
whike.
Thanks Cyclingmollie for the books. Can I stamp them with some ID on inside cover? Or can write your name in pencil so borrowers will know who leant what.
Going to upload pic of book corner soon. Magazines can be leant out too. Got lots of those.
There was a thread about the book club idea somewhere ...
Nice! I was delivering some double glazed glass just round the corner today opposite the bike works. Went past the shop in the van, 2 gents inside chatting . I didn't realize it's the old children's pottery place. Been to many parties there and will miss it......bike shops (sorry showrooms) are better though!!
LaidBack, good to see the shop finally today. I'm not sure using recumbents as seating will catch on though! The books display is nice - you can see what's there which is a bit roady with some Josie. I wouldn't stamp them, just let people take one if they leave one. But stipulate that they have to leave another book about cycling.

very comfy!
The book shop looks very good and agree with cc, it's a great idea. Someone borrowed Bicycle Diaries already?
I see from the picture that there's a spot on the shelf for it!
if you select from the photo I'll leave a replacemnt book back at TBW! Ta. Once shop is open then it wil be easier...!
Must read review later. dashing oot.
Popped into LBB on my way home yesterday and borrowed a well-thumbed issue of the BHPC magazine, then spent teatime reading it and wondering if I have the strength to race.
I have a copy of Mike Burrows' Bicycle Design which might be of interest to the reclined community and the pointy hat community. I can just see Kaputnik rolling out of Embra on a Windcheetah monocoque TT bike.
The book swap will be easier once we have this weekend out of way.
Away at East Fortune Sat and Sun...
Readers may (or may not) be familiar with recumbamentalist, Ian Fardoe*, who built himself a velomobile using a standard trike as a starting point. His creation has made the page on the Makezine blog:
http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2011/09/diy-velomobile.html
and be sure to check the Flickr gallery there for a very familiar recumbent and tandem dealer's graphic!
* About six-four, built like a Marine, snapped a carbon seat but couldn't break the rest of the Nazca Fuego.
