Last of a few bike events that we've done with LB business.
Always interesting to see how 'odd' bikes go down with public. Popular as they don't cost to try - unlike fairground rides. Tandem was liked. Trikes too except the price...
Some people mastered two wheeled riding.

    Bikes versus Monster Trucks...

They crush cars and the crowd love it..... The driver/commentator was from Yorkshire. He wasn't interested in our trikes as they weren't manly enough....(!)

Rest of day was hectic with three trikes, tandem and one recum bent used all the time. I enjoyed cycling out both days. A198 nice and quiet. People wondered whether I shouldn't use a longer 'quieter' route but I don't see what's wrong with cycling straight to something if you're pushed for time?

    Overnight garaging was good....

Not that this event was of any interest to me whatsoever...glad you took the oppochancity to promote something more healthful. I suspect that the crowd was mostly petrol heads, and frankly numpties, who will have all driven there. In fact the national museums of Scotland was promoting this shamelessly on FB, shame on them. That's all we need more gas guzzlers and huge vehicules on the road, way to go!

    Yes....

I look at it is as going into the lion's den a bit. We did get a lot of interest from the children there and they enjoyed helping too. Ours were one of the few exhibits where they could actually do something for free.... the trikes were great as they are safe and they looked after them. Amazing really...

The children and adults who got a chance to cycle round had a fantastic time... but maybe we were wrong in supporting the event ?

From our point of view the most bike friendly events in 2011 were:

      1. Big Bike Fun Day in Stirling - outdoor spaces to cycle, friendly helpers
      2. Maginficent Machines- outdoor spaces to cycle - no other vehicles in our area
      3. Outdoor Pursuits RHS - cycling in a shed along with Segways
      4. Scottish Bike Show - cycling in a corner of a shed as test track was for stunt bikes only
