    [shakes head]

What were folk on last night for the evening commute?

    Two incidents, not one!

Southbound on Buccleuch Street ~1715, a car stops in the stream of traffic, reverses along the cycle lane, carefully avoids parking illegally on the crossing, to park illegally on the yellow lines outside Dagda. Oh, and all the while forcing a frantic, shouting cyclist to repeatedly shuffle backwards to avoid being run over!

I offered my details to the cyclist, if she wanted to report it, but was so concerned about the driver appearing confused/impaired that I reported it myself.

Second one I didn't witness, but just off Old Dalkeith Road at Walter Scott Avenue, there was a car stopped with a cyclist standing on the pavement. I thought a pedestrian had been struck as the car windscreen was broken and guessed the cyclist had stopped to help, but when I enquired it turned out the shaken "pedestrian" was actually the driver and the cyclist had just gone over the bonnet! He'd been checked out by a passing doctor, and diagnosed with "you'll be sore in the morning", but was otherwise OK.

    Heat going to folks' heads?

Stupid woman in a RAV4 pulled out on me on Broughton Rd last night. Managed to go round her and then realised she was about to turn right! Loud shouting did the trick. First incident in s while for me, so maybe you're onto something about last night.

    It's continuing...
Was coming up to the lights at Holy Corner today when a woman in a black Audi made a weak overtake as we slowed for the lights before closing in on me, another inch and it would have been airzound time >:-(

Of course if she'd been concentrating on the road rather than her I-phone she might have done a little better >:-<
