I don't have Mollie the bike any more and my kids don't ask if I'm cycling Mollie today and it looked like I was female. So now it's just Tom.

...but we already have a Tom!

I'm working my way through your book swap collection... reading Josie Dew's Long Cloud Ride. Pretty amusing - some good Kiwi dialogue..

Bicycle Diaries is back - cc reviewed it.

Do we? Not sure Ruggtomcat is quite the same (unless I have forgotten someone). I know we have more Dave's than the mind can comfortably conceive. Perhaps Tom should change his name to Dave just to keep things simple?

Laidback, I'm glad you're enjoying Long Cloud Ride. I see Josie Dew is in the latest issue of the CTC mag, with one child in the front of her Danish Nihola and the other in a tag-along. Hopefully you'll get a decent turnover of new books at the weekend - I've plenty more I can bring in to swap.

Min, that would be annoying, sort of like a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel.

"I think they're trying to opress me"

Sorry, can't help - don't understand any of it.

Eric Idle in Life Of Brian, The Judean Popular Front is OT but we have been there before.

    Another bit from it

    Brian: I'm not the Messiah
    Crowd: [mutters dissent] mmmmm
    Brian: You're all individuals
Crowd: [in unison] YES, WE'RE ALL INDIVIDUALS
    Eric Idle: [quietly] I'm not.

My reference was to the Philosopher sketch where the everyone is called Bruce except for the new guy who is called Michael. This confuses the Aussies who elect to call him Bruce instead.

PS, my comedy name change will only last one day. ;-)

...what if someone else comes along and steals that username, or the system doesn't allow you to change it back? That happened a few times on b3ta, stranding people with names they didn't like...

G'Day Dave let me just say I'm glad we're keeping things simple round here.

Tom-Dave it is a silly place.

"or the system doesn't allow you to change it back?"

Mmm I wonder if I can make that happen...

Some sort of comedian or writer once had a routine or wrote an article (though probably before the turn of the century) about unwise choices of web-based email user account name coming to be regretted when the time came to put something like inappropriate_touching69@hotmail.com on a job application form.
