I'm pleased to report that a Garmin Edge 500 can survive a full 50 degree cycle in the washing machine and emerge unscathed.

Handy. One of my CatEye Enduros survived a wash electronically but the casing was too warped by the heat to fit back in its holder.

A Cateye HL-EL530 cannot survive a two foot fall onto pavement. And a Specialized micro-pump cannot survive falling under and being run over by a bus.

My Cateye Mity II is still going strong after over 15 years. Early in its career I rode it through some torrential rain and it looked like its number was up for a while, but it dried out and I haven't had the same problem again.
