Just so you all know the onus is ENTIRELY on us to avoid being hurt (7 mins in).
We are automatically at fault for being vulnerable.

Curiously, this is one of the only days of the year I am going to be over that way at that time - I reckon 8.30 am at earliest. My seminar in the Uni Library starts for coffee at 9.30. I have negotiated kids being taken to school by my pal, looks like I will be there I hope some stragglers to help me get til 9.30 for seminar, tho do have the papers for the seminar to read. I am only going because my boss not available, Looks like it has to be. I like to pay £1.10 for an EXpressso in the Apple Pie Bakery of Carnwath, how much is similar beverage in PY?

I think an Americano is £1.80? I tried the PY espresso but it was not like Italian-style epsresso I was used to and it made me do a soor-ploom face

"how much is similar beverage in PY?"
If you have to ask...
Posted 13 years ago # -
Anyway you're paying for the company.
I mean the ambience.

Apple Pie Bakery in Carnwath has a certain je ne sais quoi? But I can do chilled swedish ambience too - £1.80 is also within acceptable parameters, I will tell Kapps my Southwold Soor Ploom story again if he hasn't gone by time I am there. Will have sturmey archer 3spd hub - chain a bit loose, hubgears clearly off centre, dodgy wee nut holding it together but I still like it.

PY filter coffee very good when freshly made and self-serve so no wait.
Posted 13 years ago # -
@SRd - I will ask them how fresh. I like a bit of crema on top though. I like places that give you filter refills free. I am guessing that is not PY

The decaf is a bit maso so I'd probably go for a hot chocolate.
Anyone planning to be there early = 7.30 - 8.00?
Posted 13 years ago # -
yep. Do you want me to bring the space saver bar?
Posted 13 years ago # -
Thanks but I think the foil should work okay. CU early.
Posted 13 years ago # -
best decaf i have had is - I shudder to say it - starbucks instant. it is remarkably drinkable, both for decaf and for instant, neither of which are my preferences.

@Gembo We've spent the odd dat at Southwold. Its a lovely place & I think where they film 'Grandpa in my pocket'. We'll have to swap Southwold Stories.

That was good. It was nice to meet our friend in yellow, although as I didn't bother to read this discussion beforehand, I now want to find time to listen! (@Min, above)
Posted 13 years ago # -
Yes - he seemed like a nice guy
Posted 13 years ago # -
Did he admit to running a red at the end of that interview?.......;-)

Nce to see you all (well nearly all) again. It was good to chat to the LBP Sgt as well. He has some funny anicdotes...

Sorry! Slept in and missed the short window of opportunity when I can sneak out the house while everyone is still sleeping :)
Will have to have a brew3k, I've got till 3 Feb! (as that's when I fitted my speedo)

I went to bed early in order to be up at a useful PY sort of time, but I woke late enough that had I gone to PY my hot chocolate stop would've been a splash and dash. But since I was still awake before my normal time, in the end it was useful to be early into the office.
And since I would have arrived on the monstrousbike, I was mildly concerned that there'd be nowhere left to park it.

I survived drinking two cups of coffee. I am obviously becoming immune.

Are you bouncing off the walls yet? Did you get an ASBO for threatening L&Bs finest? :)
Posted 13 years ago # -
WHEEEE 3 cups! (Hah! in yo' face Min) I have had to strap myself to my chair! OMG OMG This is AWESOME! Everything is moving in slow motion.
Was great to meet Quentin - loved the bit about the P7 kid saying "Police are supposed to be serious but you're silly..." shattered illusions are great.
Thanks for posting the pic Anth and in response:
Well wicked innit by spytfyre, on FlickrRrrrrespec'

Hahahaha, good job there were no horses there or we'd definately have frightened them! Let us know when you come down off the ceiling. ;-)
"Are you bouncing off the walls yet? Did you get an ASBO for threatening L&Bs finest? :)"
Surprisingly not and surprisingly not. ;-)

From the side the reversèd helm had a sort of American fireman look to it.
Does anyone recall if I was wearing my camera bag when I arrived? I'm pretty sure I must have forgotten to put it on before I left the house in my rush to leave (don't remember taking it off the peg nor tethering it to my waist) but am nonetheless worrying I might have left it on the grass next to where I parked.
Posted 13 years ago # -
I never even noticed you arriving so can't help there :(
Not a nice feeling to be living with for the day!
