There is serious water on the North Edinburgh cycle path, just after you ride over that wee flyover bridge thing heading south. There was definately more water when I came back even though it hadn't rained so it is still collecting runoff. A chap more sensible than me was picking his way round it. It was touch and go. I was beginning to wish I was wearing a snorkel.

"just after you ride over that wee flyover bridge thing heading south."
Thought I knew NEPN quite well, can't figure where you mean.

Slush City this morning on way into EBC from Balerno on very dodgy Nexus 8 hubgear machine for absorbing my cash. I was sprayed twice by hackney cab drivers and zero times by anyone else. Oh wait, I am pro-cabbie, so must have been First Bus Drivers moonlighting on their days off.

Is it The Red Bridge over Ferry Road heading towards Roseburn? There is usually a mammoth puddle there with no way round you just have to go through the middle with your legs up.

Red Bridge = "wee flyover bridge thing"?
Maybe, so ponding (technical term) is here http://tinyurl.com/yeg3q6b somewhere.
Anyone reported to clarence@edinburgh.gov.uk?

Yes, that's the one. Sorry, I thought it was Ferry Road but wasn't sure and didn't want to confuse people by giving the wrong road!
Can Clarence actually do anything about this?
I don't think it is possible to put your legs up, you'd come to a stop pretty rapidly and fall over!

"Slush city"
Heh, yes I gave up my road ride this morning at the point where my tyres seemed to be sliding in both directions at once. The Kirkliston road looked okay but I bet it had standing water even worse than the cycle path.

"I thought it was Ferry Road"
Yep Ferry Red
"Can Clarence actually do anything about this?"
Not personally...
It's certainly the case that CEC doesn't look after the off-road network as well as the normal road network (yeah OK everything is relative...). Important thing is stuff needs to be reported.
Worth reporting here too - http://www.fillthathole.org.uk.
