Hmmm. Spam trap seems to be eating my posts in the 'More fleaBayy Madness' thread. Funny, because I've stopped posting links. Post is there when I'm logged in, disappears when I'm not!

    Just reappeared. Huh?

Spam filter is a complex organism that gets things right much more often than wrong.

Multiple links can make it stop posts, but it's not so simplistic.

Basically it has a mind of its own and doesn't tell me when it's done something.

    I have to check periodically.

    If it happens please PM.

"Problem is you can't go logging out after each post to check..."

    Well you could...

Most people don't and there really is no need. Not sure how crowriver noticed 'missing post' so quickly.

Some people have two browsers on the go at the same time, one could be logged out.

Generally spam filter works the way it should - keeping the semi-literate overseas posters away who seem to imagine that people on cycling web sites want fake handbags or dubious jewellery.

"If your * bracelets has stubborn dirt that cannot be taken away, place it on * jewelry charms again that contains soap. Leave it there for ten minutes. Afterwards, rinse"

"In fact, these cheap * handbags are so popular that fakes of them are manufactured and
    * wallet. But ask the discerning + bags outlet duplicate timepieces."

"The unique * * Coat is a * * Jacket who was stationed right after the war the
    * * Down Jacket in the nation * * Stores northern portion."

    Etc.

This is what I did. Got Firefox on the case, checked it, post vaporised! :)

But why did you suspect it was hiding?

Because the thread sometimes doesn't show at top with your name on it?

Yeah duh - I did that for about 2 days then got sick and tired of it. If I have to check my perfectly legit posts every time I leave (and have done several times)
This forum system leaves a lot to be desired.
Like avatars. Can we have them yet?

We did have avatars briefly (on all areas, not just PMs) for a few hours that one morning when the theme broke...

I generally notice something has been "trapped" when I make a post, go back to the homepage and I am not marked as the last poster.

Yep. When you check back on the main page to see if any interesting discussion is happening (inevitably there usually is), then you see last poster on "your" thread was somebody else, yesterday, or something like that.

Anyway, it works most of the time so no worries!

semi-literate overseas posters … seem to imagine that people on cycling web sites want fake handbags or dubious jewellery.

We have the real deal: Carradice, Ortleib, Arkel, Radical and Trakke*. :-) And jewellery made from worn out sprockets and pieces of DT spokes.

    * Other purveyors of quality bags are available. I just decided not to mention them.
