    Cyclist injured in after being hit by car in Glasgow

    The accident happened on Great Western Road just before 08:00
    A cyclist has been injured after being hit by a car in Glasgow's west end.

    The incident happened on Great Western Road, near its junction with Park Road, in the city's Kelvinbridge area, just before 08:00 on Thursday.

    Police said the cyclist and driver of the car were taken by ambulance to the nearby Western Infirmary. There is no update on their conditions.

    Local diversions have been put in place while police carry out an investigation into the cause of the incident.

    Please note, German marque car (not that I am in the least bit prejudiced!!)...I hope the cyclist is okay. I am assuming the driver was taken to hospital for treatment for shock and not for severe injuries unless the Merc was ended by the lorry!

    passed by later that day, loads of cycles and cyclists, many still in stealth mode, jumping reds and weaving across the road, except one on a drop bar job, he waited at a red for ages,never once putting a foot down, until he got bored, jumped the red and the plod on the path pulled him in , looked like he was getting a good lecture ! No idea how the accident happened, hope all ok !
