Not me!
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
TRAMS!
"many Facebook pages are plagued by bogus friends"
I thought that was the point of facebook...........
;-)
I was almost knocked over by a cyclist running a red light speeding on the pavement without any lights on last night. I could have been KILLED, just how many people do cyclists kill every year and get away with it? They don't even pay tax! Next time I'll give him a good kicking and put a stick through his spokes. He wasn't even wearing a helmet. ROADS WEREN'T MADE FOR BIKES! They're all just too poor to afford cars and wear sandals and read the Guardian and are vegetarian. Stupid lycra was really offensive, why can't they dress properly? I was held up by one going 2mph the other day, he was weaving about in the middle of the lane, I only just managed to get past him but it was really dangerous for him to be there and force me to overtake in the face of oncoming traffic with parked cars on the street and speed bumps and small puppies running out into the road. I don't know why I bother with this council being so anti-car and creating traffic where it wasn't before, it's all a WAR ON THE MOTORIST! Petrol should be cheaper, it's only so expensive because the government gives in to whingeing environmentalists. I call them environ-mentalists. The cycling lobby is too strong, something needs to be done about it to make the roads safer for people to go about quickly, which we could do if those stupid 20mph zones were axed I drive at 40 on that road and it's perfectly safe if the kids that live around there would stay off it.
"Fakes are more likely to start new comment threads..."
Anth, have you been in PY this lunchtime freebasing cinnamon buns again? ;-)
"Fakes are more likely to start new comment threads, make inane comments rather than add to a debate, and repeat former comments with minor changes, the study suggests."
Well yes, spam filter tends to stop them. I don't understand the point of doing it like that - though they do usually contain 'product' links.
Spam filter also stops a lot of posts pretending to be ecstatic about the designer bag they have just bought.
It's clear that robots don't have English as their first language.
"a brand which represents the fashion and quality is so amazing that almost every fashionable people want to own at least one version from it."
"Choose a correct and wonderful ** Replica handbags will not only arise your social status but also improve your work efficiency.
"Spam filter also stops a lot of posts pretending to be ecstatic about the designer bag they have just bought."
I love my Carradice. It makes me want to weep with happiness.
^ Inane?
Insane?
Or just a genuine comment??
Of course we could always stop people posting who haven't been to PY and been vetted.
There's a vet at PY?
"There's a vet at PY?"
Must have arrived after you left...
Cat scan and Lab reports?
Anth, maybe we should write a citycycling comment script generator? You enter a few key variables (council name, street name, whatever) and it generates a "random" composition drawn from a few examples such as your own?
"Innocent ... glass ... yappydog ... neds ... pig's head ... headwind ... drippy ceiling ... sofa ... ablaze ... ice ...undergrowth ...immunisation ... wtf? ..."
Ah. Cat Scan! One of the first memes I got into
I know what happens when boy dogs and cats go to the vet.
Never going to Pete's again.
